Neat, kind of a loop hole for those with a ton of cash and know how . I won't ever go to those kind of lengths, but very interesting . Would be cool to see someone be able to get a beefier manual and modify like that and see how it handles that max load . And if they pulled it off, sounds like...
So you are saying that you could buy the maximum tow rated option and then swap out an automatic transmission with a manual and it still be legally able to tow what was printed on the placard ?
Yeah, beefier than stock ... I don't know if you could even do it . I personally wouldn't bother with it . People do transmission, powertrain, suspension, body mods on thousands of vehicles though . I was just wondering if since the sticker on the frame would say it originally had max tow...
Sounds the same as horse stall mats at Tractor Supply Co. I use them for my home gym flooring . 3/4 inch rubber 4x6 feet , 45 dollars . They do weigh about a 100 pounds though hehe, but made to take the beating of a horse standing on them .
Tweeters can be very small . There is a possibility (I don't know because I haven't looked) that there is a tweeter stuffed under the speaker guard along with a bigger speaker, and maybe they count that as an additional speaker .
I wonder if they did that because the spare is underneath and the steel would be a little more tougher if it happened to get dragged on a rock or something while off-roading, but yeah that was one of the first things I noticed when those specs came out .
I don't think we can compare the JL to the JT for pricing because they are so different . One is an suv and one is a truck . One has superior off road abilities, the other has superior tow/hauling abilities ... when you look at their actual functions between those two... they are really quite...
Spread sheet says Hard top + Premium soft top < Dual top . Unless those are guestimations, or unless the hard top is the painted one, might look into buying them separately to save a few bucks .
Back at the LA Show they had a mopar accessorized one . This is the link to a post from then:

If you scroll about half way down the first page ... from about half way down to 3/4 down are...
If I kept my spare tire a 35, and put 37 or even 40s on the other four wheels, and use the 35 as a spare only ... would there be an issue of riding with one 35inch tire for a few hours to get home or out of the trails if needed ?
The question for me is, does he have a size 37 spare, and was he able to stick it underneath with a little modification or is it chillin in the bed or the garage ?
When I look at the spy shots, the rear fenders appear to stop before crossing into the space of the body . So I think the rear fenders are just attached to the bed . The camouflage gives the rear fender a longer look, but after looking at all the different angles in the spy photos I feel it ends...
