well I see where the confusion comes in now... If you open my 'Route' from Post #22 on a phone, it just takes you straight to flag pole without ever touching Union Springs... If you open it on a computer It takes the route I intended;
And what Nathan is suggesting, is we go up Dunkle Hollow...
Ok, if it's going up Union Springs, that is the route we were going to take... I'm all for going down long run after we get to the knob, I've only been that way once my self that I recall.
Where is that entrance in relation to the meeting point on Rawley Pike? I'm not against taking a different route, but it's kinda late for changing the meeting point, there are people who might not login before tomorrow morning.
That's kind of starting at the opposite end from where we set up the meet up point. Wait, I'm not sure of that... Trying to interpret that screenshot is a little tough.. What is the "A" and is Point "E" on Briery Branch Road?.
And neither is a Hummer H1 by that definition. Me thinks too many people here are hung up and confusing the term "Truck" with "Pickup"... A Gladiator is a Pickup Truck, a Cadilac Escalade or Wrangler is an SUV Truck. An Avalanche or Ridgeline is an SUT Truck, and an E350 or Chevy Express is a...
Not to knock the Colby Valves, they are a great idea to throw in every tool kit when you have multiple kits, But the price per valve puts me off. I keep this in my main kit, and a selection of valve sizes...
OK, So, I'm thinking a meet up time on Rawley Pike (Link in above post) of 10AM, That way all the folks coming from more Northerly points get more sleep in time to make the trek, and don't have to get up at 0' Dark Thirty... The whole route I'm planning on running is usually about 3~4 hours...
If you actually mapped Flagpole Knob, You won't get there in three hours, but from where we're starting it should be about 2.5 hours at the most... We're meeting here;

You'll be fine in a stock Overland, it's possible to go around the staircase... Not sure where you are in VA, so can't verify if it's three hours for you or not...
'Jeep' would never work at my place. It tends to get called 'The Gladiator', then we have "The Blue JK", "The Renny", "The Rubi"(2006 TJ), "The TJ(1999 TJ)" and the "The Chevy"(2002 Silverado). Jeep and Truck just have way to many possibilities...
This is the route I followed last month (March 7th), Made for a pretty good day trip.

Here's a shot from Meadow Knob the last time I was there;
The Red TJ also just confirmed for the Second.
We actually took a side trip in there up to Reddish Knob...
This is a pretty good meeting point if we want to go up Union Springs;
