  1. MOJAVE Edition Gladiator JT Club

We like to stay at Driftwood Shores in Florence and then pal around from the Siltcoos Beach Access rd. The S Jetty rd hill climb had been a little intimidating for me on prior trips but I tackled the hill this trip and had no problem šŸ˜Ž

  4. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

You could probably get away with a half-rack if you are okay with some overhang. Might look a little funny but you could space out the supports and make it work.
  5. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

    Yakima Jetstream bars.
  6. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

I personally wouldn't either, but the poster @spatters has a specific roll-back tonneau cover that they need the rack to fit around.
  7. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

It looks like these racks might work with your tonneau cover but probably worth calling them to confirm fitment. https://realtruck.com/p/elevate-rack-system/v/jeep/gladiator/2023/
  8. I’m looking for recommendations for a bed rack and rooftop tent RTT.

Save yourself a bunch of $$ and go with a tent from Naturnest... same roof top tents as the other brands but without the crazy mark-up. I've been very satisfied with my Sirius 2 RTT from them and it doesn't look like all the others out there.
  9. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

If you are using a mobile browser you might have to stare at the screen for a moment and a little box comes up in the bottom right corner to convert to different currencies. For desktop I think there is just a drop down tab to change currency in the lower right area of your screen.
  10. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

No problem! I was not familiar with the brand and never saw one in person before ordering, but I was blown away when it arrived. I can't wrap my head around paying 2-3x as much for the same thing with a different brand name on it LOL. If you end up ordering one, click one of the links I dropped...
  11. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

NaturNest has 3 different clamshell-style hard sided tents under $2500. I went for their largest one (Sirius II RTT) and love it so far. Plenty of room for 3 people and it looks great on the Jeep. I could easily stow some sleeping gear in there with it closed. It's comparable, if not superior in...
  12. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

I hear ya, I was just going off their own specs posted at 51.6ā€ for the width of the mattress. As I mentioned previously, that style of RTT is great for 1 or 2 people but just isn’t big enough for 3 comfortably in my opinion. And there are comparable tents out there at a better value than Ironman.
  13. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

Mattress is too small for anything more than 2 adults, hence why I needed something larger. Even at $1,000 off, it still costs $500+ more than the same tent from Naturnest...
  14. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

Weight factor is a tough consideration on a mid size truck like ours for sure. I have accepted that I won't be ripping the dunes in Florence on the same trip I camp with wife and kiddo on the roof. Just too much weight up there slinging around on the SmartCap. I definitely considered CVT as I...
  15. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

One of the biggest things to take into consideration is the width of the sleeping area. The Nimbus shows a width of 49" which is definitely on the narrower side- not sleeping any more than two average adults. Are you looking for something to sleep 3 people comfortably? As far as bedding goes, I...
  16. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

You are correct, there are a ton of factors! My idea of "best" may not be your "best" and that is totally fine. My last RTT was from a premium domestic brand and I find the materials and workmanship to be right on par with my new one from Naturnest. One of my coworkers has a Roofnest that we...
  17. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

With a 51" wide sleeping platform there's no way I'd put 3 people in the Ironman wedge comfortably, even if it was a child. Don't get me wrong, it has great (the same) features as most other wedges, but the point of this post was to bring attention to the value that can be found with a little...
  18. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

Glad to hear you have had a good experience with Ironman 4x4. While great for 1-2 people, the hinge wedge style and straight pop up styles are both too narrow to accommodate 3 people. I agree the pop up style looks suspect in wind :CWL:. I've had no trouble with mine in wind- has supports that...
  19. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

Ah, I had not heard of Topoak but it looks like they have the same design as the Naturnest Polaris RTT for the same price. Naturnest offers a few more options than Topoak so it would be worth checking out. The Topoak Galaxy 2 is too narrow for my family of 3 (mattress is only 52" wide vs 70"+...
  20. Best Roof Top Tent for the buck?

That’s interesting… I don’t see the XL version available, but the rendering for the Tank V2 (and video) looks identical to my Naturnest, just scaled down a little. After reading the description on Desert Armor’s website it sounds like the same product I bought, same accessory list and...
