Interesting, now that you mention it I was missing 2 washers for the straps that hold it in place open (went to TSC and grabbed a couple) and mine was months ago with the older version.
I also agree that the rubber will flatten out with heat and opening/closing a couple times, other than that...
Good question, took me a while to figure out but it is actually just one kit Y02-490b-NT or Y02-490-NT if you want silver Bars.
Best part is that everything you need comes with the kit (59” bars, feet, etc....) and it is not that expensive and well built....I think I paid around $325 shipped...
Funny I switch from a 2019 Oxford White Raptor crew cab to a 2021 sting grey Gladiator......I definitely see your points...raptor was sick and so roomy but I have to admit parking is so much easier in the gladiator, regular gas is nice and a couple miles more a gallon on top of it, I also feel...
I have the older version, very happy with it and works with rhino racks without any adapters, this looks almost the same except it the attachment hardware is black and instead of felt there is rubber. Also the little plastic piece at the back are not on mine.
A couple of things struck me in this review:
this section: "Once our truck completed Jeep's short 300-mile break-in period, a brutal high-rpm clutch drop in 4HI launched it to 60 mph in a lazy 8.5 seconds"
and this one: "On level ground and with the manual in sixth gear, the Mojave required a...
I have a Sting Grey grill but it is the Sport grill (includes side and bottom piece in sting grey).
it is like new as I swapped on a black grill like the willy's with around 1500 miles
I also went Mopar with 315/70/17 on my sport with stock fenders.
looks great although if I had a rubicon I would go with 37s (and might anyway on my sport).
That pricing is crazy, I bought the kit with 15% off at my local dealer (route 130 in robbinsville NJ so not too far from you)
I installed myself and it took 2 half days with hand tools and jack stands but I have done lift installs in the past.....biggest pain was rear springs to fit in without...
just to clarify I also have an auto....which has a rediculously tall double overdrive 0.67 final ratio.
our 7th gear is almost exactly the same as a JK 5th gear on the auto or final ratio.
with manual I'm not sure if I would have done the same
cool, I do think 4.56 would be great too but for the driving I have done so far 4.88 has been great.
Then again during break in they said do not go over 70, I haven't gone much over 60 yet so will have to see how it is on the highway (I typically drive around 75mph with the jeep on the highway)
good point, also we will see what happens after 500 mile break in as that is certainly affecting the gas mileage, then again I really didn't get close to 19 even when babying it in the past
are you sure you aren't referring to the Bronco Sport (competitor for the jeep renegade) that has been out and around for about a month or two.
the full Bronco is bigger than the JL and JLU and typical body on frame, looks a lot like a wrangler.
Just an update, I went with 4.88 and I am honestly surprised that it does not feel that much more aggressive (basically feels like I have the stock tires back), I'm also surprised that the gas mileage is so much better (so far averaging 19.7 v. 16.7 with stock gears, and yes I adjusted speedo...
