So not today but over the past 5 years and 90,000 miles...

2020 launch edition. Bought brand new in June 2019. 88000 miles. Lots of upgrades but no major issues. Oil filter housing broke once.. batteries replaced once. Several windshields... But it's New Mexico. Love it. Will drive it and continue to upgrade till my grandson is old enough to drive it...
As the title says I am a fat old guy that has a 3.5 lift with 37's. We camp a lot and do offroad trails when camping. We will do trails with a level 8 difficulty but usually not 10s so I need to get in and out of the bed on regular basis to get camping stuff, air up gear, lunch coolers on...
I have used it. Holds up well for about a year per layer. Problem for me was in New Mexico the sun just melted the 2nd and 3rd layers together both times. Never tried rainx on it. When it only rains a couple times a year no need.
I emailed rockslide engineering with the question along with how I did it when I had amp research steps. I think it can be done I just need to find out if they use a negative trigger wire to deploy or what set up they use.
Anyone out there hooked up there rockslide engineering steps up to there dome light for deployment? If so how did you do it?
That way when the doors are off the dome light goes on (you unlock the jeep) the steps go down and when light goes off (lock the car) they go up.
That way your key fob...
Last weekend completed the trifecta in Moab. Ripped off my amp research side steps on poison spyder. Broke a sway bar arm bracket on golden spike trail. but hey everyone was able to drive out so good day.🤕
Held a little prayer 🙏 vigil as I threw the side steps away back in town.😭
I just...
I am thinking about one of these but had some questions that I hoped some who has one can answer for me.
How is visibility out the rear window?
Have you had the top off the jeep since you put the topper on? If so any concerns? Buffering?... etc
How is it holding up?
Anything else I should...
Tow a 23 foot wildwood with bunkhouse and slide. Sleeps 8. About 5500lbs full loaded. Launch edition Rubicon with 3.5 metal cloak lift, falcon 3.1 shocks, and 5.13 gears. I use a weight distribution hitch. Sits nice a level and goes where it is told with no problems. Great little camper.
Is any one else having the same problem I am with the stock bed cover from the early Launch Editions. I picked mine up new from the dealer in July of 2019. So I know it is the Early production edition cover. The Straps that run parallel to bed sides are rotting and have broken into several...
The back window attached to the jeep via a channel and would not fit in to my channel. I think my channel might be pinched closed but cannot say for sure. Loved it other than that. If I do not sell it by spring I might try to use a strip of Velcro to hold the back window in place.
No factory functions were missing. if you do not have a tazer or a 3w window switch it will be fine. It just takes alot of tweaking and patience to get everything set right
If you have a tazer you loose tazer functions. If you have a 3w window switch you loose function of the switch.
And...
Return process was not that hard. They kept trying to do tech support but I told them I removed the unit. So they sent me a return label. Just make sure you send every single cable etc back. They charged me for 2 cables I did not return
I tried and tried to get the unit to work with my tazer and it would not. It also really confuses my 3w window switch.. only my front windows would roll down from the remote and sometimes would roll up on there own... Long story short I removed it and sent it back....
