Just a week ago a friend who owns an autobody shop told me about those axles breaking just like yours. They're a week spot and he expects a recall coming on those in the future.
880 lbs. for the basic shell and 1694 lbs. for a fully kitted Khaya dry weight, plus the weight of passengers and gear on a Rubicon with a 1200 lb. payload capacity?
I have this camper I used on a Tacoma and Colorado, both 6' beds. It weighs 600 lbs. dry and I had airbags on the Tacoma and...
Dry weight plus carrying capacity of that trailer comes to 7600 lbs. Trailers are allways heavier as delivered than the weights listed in brochures, which doesn't include options like awnings, ac, microwaves, spare tire. One manufacturer even considered the heater and refrigerator as options.
The reason the Rubicon doesn't have a max tow option is because it already has most of what you get with that. The tow package option just gets the rest of it. My Rubicon has a tow rating of 7000 lbs.

Where you're going to have an issue is with payload. The ZR2 I had had a max payload of 1180 lbs. When I loaded up everything including a 90 lb. winch, I took it to a CAT scale. I was over weight by 140 lbs. on the truck. Out went the winch and I shifted some stuff in the trailer to lessen...
Air bags aren't recommended to be used with a WD hitch. I had airbags on my Tacoma and liked it when loaded with 600 lb. camper and towing a 2500 lb. trailer and no WDH, except with all the weight on the rear the and no WDH the front end would tend to "hop" on concrete freeway slabs so I...
That's the one I have. I use an Equalizer weight distributing hitch so I use the Sherline before hitching up. Makes it easy to redistribute cargo in the trailer to get the tongue weight in the range I want.
I use the Cat scales too.
Absolutely.

A bit of trivia: It takes 30,000 volts for static electricity to jump a centimeter or 75,000 volt to jump an inch.
In this foto I pulled a nylon jacket off a fabric chair and put it on, then went turn the light off and got this shock.
