Want to get a set of rock sliders to replace the factory rails that came with my Mojave. Want a set that's frame mounted as they are legit going to be used. Have my eye on the DV8 Tubular Rock Sliders as they are made in USA, are frame mounted, and look like they can take a beating. That being...
The only Gladiator that gets the Rock Trac T-case is the Rubicon AFAIK. I'd definitely ask for a picture of the shifter based on those descriptions haha.
Rock trac is a 4:1 low gear ratio, Only the Rubi gets that. command trac is a 2.72:1 low range, all the other gladiators get this one...
That's the best answer to this question I've ever seen. As long as you know what you're losing by doing it, there's no problem with it IMHO. That being said, there are some companies making narrow / pizza cutter 35"s or 255/85R17 that are completely in spec on the factory wheels
4.5/ 5k including trailer, 4 wheelers, ramps, gear, gas, water, tools, etc etc. I use a RedArc Tow Pro Elite brake controller. Mojave does just fine with it in the Blue ridge mountains
I made a really crappy youtube video about this exact topic if you can bear to sit through it. I compare the Sport S, Rubicon, and Mojave and talk about how I ultimately made my decision, as well as a couple options I couldnt live without
Cant make it in Feb, but am going with a small group at the end of March (24th/25th). Camping there Friday night and doing a guided green/blue trail ride that Saturday through offroad-consulting.com
The 850re (basically a ZF 8hp clone) has "lifetime" fluid. Theres no easy way to drain/fill/check level and no prescribed service interval for flushing the trans / replacing fluid . The 6sp calls for flush/new fluid at 30k miles IIRC. Thats probably why the dealer raised an eyebrow at it...
The truck behind me made it down and back up later with no issues, its a stock Rubicon just for reference. There are a handful of obstacles past this with similar difficulty, but nothing too crazy. Union Springs I consider a stock friendly trail but in your situation being by yourself and...
Thats awesome, i've been back up there a couple times since this trip myself. Personally I like it better closer to Winter as the views arent blocked as much. Always best to err on the side of caution, I use a SPOT messenger myself to stay in touch with the wife. How do you like the Garmin...
Very cool, was just up there again this past Saturday. Curious, where where you at when hit your stabilizer? Trying to get one more trip in before the end of the year, will post another trail ride in the mid-atlantic section here soon
I have a DRT hitch skid that I leave in there. I like the DRT because it protects the safety chain eyes from getting bent. When I wash the truck I remove it, clear all the debris out, brush it and touch up the paint with some rattle can to prevent rust. The DRT hitch skid has a mount for a...
Thanks John, appreciate it much. Looks awesome. Sorry to hear that about the beads, have never had good luck with them on anything either on much smaller tires (motorcycles mainly), couldnt imagine them working well in such a large heavy tire
Very cool, exactly the wheels and tires I want for mine. Very curious to hear what your opinions are, would love to see some pics of them on the truck!
Decided to save myself some labor cost ($800ish) and install my AEV 2" Spacer lift myself. All in all a pretty easy / straight forward job. I think it took me about 4 or 5 hours over the span of two evenings (did the back one night, the front the next. If you decide to do this kit yourself, you...
Same, we are planning a trip out there next summer to visit family and do Alpine loop/black bear pass, etc. This would 100% be a non starter if she saw it
