Sure, not in all cases, but certainly some. Yeah the skidmark isn’t ideal, I’m not going to get it. I really want one with a 2” receiver that is raised up 2-4”.
It’s also more for convenience, being able to leave the hitch slider on at all times, vs having to carry it and swap in on when...
Does anyone make a hitch slider with a built-in riser/extension? I want a slider to protect the OEM hitch but still want to put a bike rack or WaterPORT on my hitch. Raising the bike rack would also help with departure angle.
Something like a hybrid of the two products below:
Ha! The M cars probably don’t need the tuning, it’s for the non-M to get closer to M shifting. But if he has the newest M4 (all-wheel drive), then they also have a product to change the drive modes (rwd only for drifting, awd bias, etc).
JT Overland / JL Sahara Front Bumper.
Same as Rubicon / Mojave plastic front bumper but trim is painted silver instead of black.
Comes with front air dam and front license plate mount (never drilled into the bumper)
I also have red Rubicon tow hooks if you are interested.
Only around 400...
Agreed, they likely don't have access to the shift maps in the ZF8 transmission. But maybe (MAYBE) the additional Rubicon/Mojave Off Road+ shift maps are already stored in the TCU (transmission control unit) for all models and they just need to be unlocked.
There was a lot of work on the BMW...
Just added a Kicker HS10 to my base audio system, along with Infinity Reference 3.5” coaxial dash speakers and poly-fill all around. Pretty happy with it and very likely won’t m be doing anything else.
Can those with the HS10 share their gain and crossover settings?
I started with gain and...
Nice find! I have JScan as well but only did minor things (i.e. tire size).
What model JT do you have? I wonder if we’ll need to add the switch assembly and associated harness prior to enabling it.
ah I didn’t consider the ecodiesel. So if you go into 4L, then turn on Off Road+, it will automatically disconnect your front sway bar and turn on the rear locker, even if you didn’t specifically touch those controls?
Thanks for the input, but this is mainly incorrect. Of the items you mentioned, the only thing it does is turn on the front camera (if you have one and if it's enabled via settings). See the manual below:
As I mentioned, I'm really interested in the Engine/Transmission Calibration along with...
I had a 2020 JTR for a couple years before lemoned it and Just got back in with a 2023 Sport Max Tow.
I remember really enjoying the adjusted throttle response and shift points running somewhat briskly in 4H on sandy trails. That’s what I’m mainly after.
Has anyone successfully retrofitted Off-Road+ modes into non-Rubicon/Mojave models? Can a Tazer do it? What does it take to trick the computers?
Tried to search but unsuccessful due to the generic search term “off road” (that, or I just suck)…
Mods: maybe this belongs in the Programmers...
All very helpful. Thank you. I was recycling some metal last week and it weighed 5700 lbs with all the constant load gear I mentioned above, half-tank of gas, but without any temporary camping stuff.
I’ll try the 2.5” springs as-is with progressive bump stops first. Add bags or Hellwig rear...
I'm wondering if it's even worth mountain solar panels at all.
I have 2x 100W panels as well. My house battery charges from the alternator at up to 25A while driving. When parked and camping, I usually try to position the rig so the RTT is in the shade, so I pull out the panels and place them...
Lol, looks great. I might be up there with you when fully loaded for a multi-day trip...
2.5" springs don't require recentering the control arm bushings?
This is really helpful. I picked up a used kit for $100 (lol). Came with the 2.5” springs, 5100 shocks, bump stock extensions, sway bar end links. Got the TeraFlex rear track bar tower ($50 used on amazon) and Rancho geo brackets ($175 used on amazon). Figured I’ll just run this for a bit, see...
