I'm all about healthy skepticism, but damn. I think you're giving 'they/them' way too much credit here, @Jt-wrx. Agreed that our world is only becoming more and more connected and susceptible to manipulation, but that's a side effect of capitalism and technology - not the end goal.
I always...
03/04/2022 Updates!
I have a few weeks off of work coming up, so I'll finally have the time (and the warmer weather) to get some things done to the JT. I'm switching jobs and made sure to build in some time to reboot in between. Plan so far is:
Tint on front windows to match rear (pro...
Yeah the TJ kits are really nice. Maybe they'll start making them again one of these days, lol. It's a timeless product and they don't have the Brute Doublecab taking up their production space any more....
Good stuff in here, I appreciate it. Looking to level out my JTR for a bit before I decide if I want to go all in on a full AEV kit.
I've got 2 questions:
consensus on how much spacer to get to level the front of a JTR?
@bleda2002, guessing you're saying no matter the spacer I should get the...
I've been thinking about this too, but IDK what kind of improvements could be made over stock IMO. I am happy with the interior ambient lighting as-is. I think a big bang for buck on ambient lighting would be for puddle lights on unlock.
It unlocks a lot of functions on the JL/JT platform. Most basic application for people is to change tire size or gear ratio. Can do lots of other things from permanently disabling stop/start to enabling turn-assist that's tighter than can be achieved with the Bronco, apparently. The company...
I'd say don't second-guess yourself. Have you spent time with a 3.6 before? I came from an old Magnum 360 and I think the 3.6 is a better experience all around. It's allll relative. I found the 3.0 fun to drive .... but to me so is the 3.6, lol.
I wanted 4A (not available on EcoD) and emissions...
Yeah I see you've got a 96 Silverado - the JT has surely been a leap ahead in complexity for me from my 00 Ram. I put the Ram in storage for the winter a few months ago and have every expectation it will crank on the first try when this place thaws out in another month or two. I don't think the...
You're probably gonna be real upset when you find out that because the electric powertrain requires movement of lubricated parts of the ICE, the ICE still has to kick on every time long enough to heat up the fluids. That means the electric portion is unable to operate independently in a lot of...
Well then how about this for a somewhat useful answer: Just lock the RFID key under the backset and install one of these (Ravelco). Carry that key around with you. Problem solved, ish?
I didn't either, but I can tell you there's no good answer to be found here. It's just the way things are now.
My '22 has an option where it will honk/chirp 3 times if it is on and it detects the key leave the vehicle. Super useful and I wonder if it isn't something you can enable on yours.
