IF that is all that I could afford, then yes, I would buy a base model. It's not financially practical or smart though if that is all you can afford and have zero left over to save. But not being financially smart...
The Mojave has been great for me so far. I haven't missed my 2015 JKUR at all. A Rubicon is the only other trim I looked at but I don't need the front locker, 4:1 transfer case. The Mojave is build for how I use mine and how I want to use it.
I did 100% of my shopping online this time also. I had a quote from Carvana, but emailed a couple of dealers in the area with the information on my truck and sent photos from all angles outside and two inside photos. After that they sent me the deal that I was happy with and made the drive.
It might be worth looking at the dealer in Gastonia, NC. I purchased my Mojave from them a couple months back and I was very happy with the deal. It was about 8% under MSRP and I was trading in a 9 month old 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road with 15000 miles. They gave me more on trade-in than I paid for...
Just picked up my Mojave yesterday with a manual. Loving it and so glad to be back in a Jeep. Traded my 2015 JKU Rubicon on a 2020 Tacoma and it just wasn’t for me. Luckily with the current market I was able to work out a good deal on the Mojave and get more than I paid on trade-in.
