You arent crazy, you are spot on accurate.
Radio Guy, I think the issue that might be coming up is Jeep has actually reversed the polarity going to certain speakers... because.. Who the hell knows, reasons? I tested all my speaker wiring (multimeter) inside the vehicle today, verified them vs...
If I were in your scenario, I would start with changing out the four 3.5 inch speakers (rollbar and dash) with the Dart/kicker set up. That would cost less than $150 and would dramatically improve things.
After that, I would either do a small powered sub (HS10) or a traditional wired amp kit...
Matter of preference I guess. You can get amazing 6x9s but the cost jumps due to needing an amp in many cases. There are a lot of high sensitivity 6.5s that fit in the other enclosure if you are on a budget, as quality 6.5s (with lower power requirements) and the sound bar mounts are both...
Here are some ideas from someone who has been doing the same as you for the last year (budget upgrades, a lil each month):
1. Take offs from rubis are prevalent. You should be able to snag a wheel and tire combo for under $750, pending area. That said, you have the cali rims, which IMO are more...
FWIW - I did not like the premium alpine, which is why I didnt order it on my build. So if you do like the Alpine, then chances are our listening preferences might be different. I like good mids and despise tweeters that sound like tin cans. Other people pay $500 for a set of tweeters that sound...
Thats the ones. They are a very solid upgrade that is plug and play. It uses the same harness and screws.
If you wait a couple weeks till my new speakers come in, you can have mine for $50+ shipping (for all 4 of them, instead of 2). But if you prefer new then definitely grab those of Amazon. I...
Just earlier this month I got them for $50 on Amazon. Surely you can get them for that price again on black friday. For me personally? The kicker dodge darts were much, much better. Even after adjusting the frequencies sent to the jbls, they still sounded too tin-y for my taste.
The JBLs also...
I would complain to the dealer first because issue 1 sounds like there is a bug/defect in the system. The next step is to order the dodge dart speakers. They are kickers and are a noticeable upgrade for little money.
If you are like me and drive the Jeep naked 95% of the time, than the Dart...
Read the comments before posting? That is almost as absurd as not explaining it in the OP. You really do think to highly of the internet. Bring it down a notch!
(this is all tongue in cheek, hopefully obvi)
I mean, its kinda your fault for not pointing that out originally. This is the internet homie, we dont look for details on video clips. Weve all seen to much youtube; now we are numb.
Woke up at like 6 am, nothing on the docket this morning, so I threw on the stubby bumper and winch thats sitting in my garage. Need to do the wiring still.
While I wait on the audio equipment, I figured I would get the new bumper and winch mounted. I need to figure out how I want to do the electrical system. I think I am going to attempt to add a third battery but I am in the research phase right now.
Would you say the kit I linked is a similar concept? An isolator, 20ft of 0 gauge pos and 2ft 0 gauge neg? I would still obviously need the additional battery and to mount it somewhere, perhaps even the same spot you did.
I am aware of what Genesis does, which is why I mentioned needing 2 new identical batteries instead of one in this set up. But this looks like it achieves the same exact goal (additional battery capacity/more reliable power). The only difference is you are offloading the AUX to the new 3rd...
