That’s insane! I had a new 2012 Golf TDI, and back then they de-carboned the intake using a propane torch … but good job!
Maybe when. I hit 10k miles I’ll pop open the egr tube and examine
You did that while the motor was assembled and in the car??? Not sure I’d perform that process for some soot cleanup… Reminds me of the old days of YouTube where someone suggested pouring sand in the intake of a running car to clean the intake (or was it to port/polish???) … anyways that didn’t...
RIGHT! But we have the low pressure EGR in addition to the more traditional high pressure EGR. When using low pressure we should have soot free exhaust being injected into the intake. I was wondering how clean out I takes look, compared to the 2nd gen ecodiesel or something like the 2.8 Duramax …
Anyone popped open their intakes to see how much this 3rd gen ecodiesel loads the intake with soot? I’d like to believe the motor uses a majority of post DPF intake for the egr. But who knows.
Secondly, what is the strategy for cleaning up the intake? If EGR is disabled, will the intake...
I squeeze the bottle to create a slight vacuum and tie it in a grocery bag and stash it behind the seat, no leaks. I also wife everything down with paper towels before heading out… YMMV
I had a TDI VW that would see a 5MPG difference running a cetane booster, that was 2012. I don’t have enough...
Right! When I was going 80mph it would make a huge difference … I forgot to mention earlier, I have a mopar roll up tonneau, no idea if that does anything, I’m sure it helps very little.
I should have mentioned the 30 mpg was the computer, not hand calculated. Was dosed with Hotshots EDT, I’d say I was mostly doing 70, pickup up speed down hills or when my foot was getting heavier.
Thanks for your experience, I will have no issues lifting and throwing 35’s. I was almost...
Death wobble sucks, and I am surprised … I would make sure whoever installed it properly swapped the control arms, these trucks are too new to have some worn out components causing issues. Verify control arms are the new longer ones from the kit and double check the alignment …
So you’re...
I wrote this in another thread ;
I am so impressed with a the diesel, after 1250mi of in city stop and go traffic, to break in the engine, I finally got her on the road.
Pure city, stop and go heavy throttle to load engine and help braking = 23mpg
Phoenix AZ to Albuquerque to Hatch to Tucson...

Could you do one of these threads for the 4xe blue interior? I may consider swapping my white stitch for blue stitch ... curious what the damage is for such a swap.
My New 2021 80th ED had the 3 wires, snapped in the new ones and VIOLA upgraded to an overland, lol... they work as intended; bright with the doors open and dim at night and adjustable with the knob.
BTW: the Mojave hood is steel and not aluminum, which isnt a problem except it is HEAVY! I mean Freakishly heavy, not like the JK or TJ steel hood, thing is an anvil.
If you want to sell your hood outright, I may be interested, I have a white sport/overland hood, so you could wear mine till yours is painted and ready … the Mojave hood is only $350 bucks at Bill Luke Jeep , just need to have it painted …
