If the wheel isn’t wide enough you can’t put the larger width tires on without them crowning.

I believe those are the same as the JL Rubicon wheels, just the wider Quadratec ones. I love those wheels. I was looking for a set of takeoffs to put on my JKU. I have seen a pic on here somewhere of a Gladiator the takeoffs on it.
