if you reset the factory tune before taking the vehicle in for warranty work, can the dealer tell you changed the ECM. Concerned about voiding the warranty

Great points. Iād add that āpeakā torque and HP numbers are just about the most irrelevant data there is. And they are deceptive if the peaks are actual peaks. Itās the torque curve that matters, how quickly as a function of rpm the engine gets to the high torque levels and how long over the rpm...
I have a 2.0 turbo in a Ford Escape. With a livernois tune it is tremendous. 225 ft lbs of torque from 4200 rpm to 6200 rpm. In my prior version of the same vehicle with the livernois tune tires would chirp shifting into 2nd and into third.
