It started off with FedEx doing FedEx things.
Then it turned out okay. Had a few minor scuffs that needed touching up but these are meant to take abuse.
Before anyone asks, I made adapter brackets for the mudflaps. They work too good to not have on there and...
I ended up with the Tab A8 2022 LTE. Be careful whichever tablet you pick as there are a lot of models that don't support Android Auto. The good news was that the case fit perfectly in the Ram Mount. This is the first tablet that hasn't been laggy or just a general PITA to work so I'm pretty...
I'd start by loading the truck down with everything that you would be taking (or as much of the unknown weight items you mentioned) sans the trailer/car and run it across a local CAT Scale to get your steer & drive axle weights. This will give you a much better idea of what you are starting...
That is the Metalcloak 3.5" springs with Bilstein 5100 shocks. VERY happy with them so far. Rides like a dream on the interstate and on the trail. It was a replacement for the Skyjacker lift that was way too mushy for my taste.
To be honest, the camper does not see the trails, it only gets me near them. I do use the WDH along with airbags (AirLift 60818HD) but have also stiffened up/upgraded the suspension since the last camping season. The airbags will help with the sag to some degree but won't be a complete...
I use it religiously in projects involving wiring. It's cheap insurance to prevent an unwanted short and looks better than OEM if you do it right (heat shrink the ends;)). Get the 100' spools and you will always have it handy.
I replaced the Skyjacker 3.5" springs for Metalcloak 3.5" springs. The Skyjackers seemed like they collapsed and they didn't provide enough distance with the bump stops. The swap of the rear springs brought the back end up over 3" so I'd say it was worth it.
Spring was in the air...

You may have been the one responsible for me purchasing that one. So far, I'm very pleased with it and surprised at how much crap it catches. Thanks for making me poorer.
Right now it is on the line below the brummel splice. The bottom strap loop is small enough that it won't come over the dive portion of the splice. If it fails I may weave it mid-splice to make it more secure but I don't want to go that route without more input from Yankum about the splice...
My goal was to get all the metal out of mine so I went with a Yankum fairlead. It protects the line and if it ever gets messed up, it's a simple brummel splice to repair.
Here is my setup. I went with all Ram Mounts so I knew everything would match up and be solid. The ball mount on the back of the faceplate (here) is simply riveted so I didn't have to fuss with any bolts or screws that could potentially work loose. The ball that is mounted to the overhead...
Installed the Metalcloak bumper and winch. I am super-impressed with that bumper and the install was a breeze.
Also installed a 500 amp relay so that it can stay disconnected until needed...
Here is a link to the JeepFest trail ride we did yesterday. This was out second time at the event and it is a blast. Really looking forward to next year!
