I drive a lot of highway miles and have noticed on particularly windy days the mileage drops significantly with the top/doors off.
AC on, top/doors on, and 65-70mph seems to be the best combo for highway fuel efficiency.
Winch, bumper, recovery gear, 35s, new wheels, Jeep all weather floormats and JL Tazer is what I did with ~$5k for my Mojave. Next few grand will be 4.88s and a front locker.
I had a great experience getting my 35s installed on the Quadratec retro CJ style wheels. The store sourced all 5 tires from around the country, had them installed in 30 minutes, and were extremely professional throughout the entire process.
I've also ordered Michelins for my Navigator and...
My wife. She didn't want anything to do with it at first, and now she loves it. Now we only drive the Navigator if we're taking all 3 kids somewhere out of town. So the Jeep is over 6k miles in 2 months.
I agree that the stock 4.10 gears aren't adequate with the factory 33" tires. When I moved to 35s I really feel it needs 4.56 or even 4.88. I'll be re-gearing soon.
I've seen several people run these on the stock suspension. Here's one next to my Mojave. Personally I think it looks like too much tire for the size. Have you considered a small lift? The Mopar lift, or any of the smaller spacer lifts, would help quite a bit.
I understand and agree with the sentiment but for someone keen on appearance I would think you would take the time to properly route the TV wires through the wall. ;)
I love the Mojave hood. I don't care that the scoop isn't functional and I am okay with that because the whole thing is...
A stock JT in any configuration will surprise most novice wheelers. Coming from the old days of CJ-7s, and later XJs, the new Jeeps are way more capable. The brake lock differential traction aid helps quite a bit compared to the past Jeeps with only open diffs. The front sway bar can be...
triggered or laughing at the boomer making up tales of envy over their JT Sport :giggle:
Definitely one of the two. I hope you continue to enjoy your "built" JT ;)
This story sounds a bit... fabricated. Boomers like to exaggerate their dominance over millenials and it's a little weird. Especially when they want to pretend like a millenial would be so envious over a Sport. :giggle:
Agreed, it certainly does ride nice. That was one of the main selling features for me, because I had no interest in lifting it so it had to be ideal right out of the box.
I was prepared to order the Tazer but my speedometer is spot on according to my GPS. It has plenty of power for acceleration, and the low first gear, along with the torque convertor, help with take off but I can't get it to hold 8th gear. If I manually shift it to 8th the engine bogs down on any...
