Drove out to the wifeās familyās undeveloped Lucerne valley desert property for a cleanup day and one nighter camping trip and hauled off a lot of accumulated old cans and other junk from over the years.
I also installed a flagpole base to fly the flag whenever we go out there.
April forecast is showing some decent weather but out there even 80 in the sun can be pretty sweaty.
Night time looks pretty good. I would even go for getting out there after dinner for a night run, then camp and leave in the morning. Last year I put together a simple quick set-up and breakdown...
I thought it was down there somewhere. Iām an hour and a half drive from there but never made it down this season. Anza borrego and ocotillo are our favorite desert places. Desert camping season is just about over until the fall, but day runs are still good if I can find the time to get out.

It does get crowded out there. Our last trip was on a Friday in April and we saw hardly anybody out there. We had a pretty good choice of camping spots.
Love that fish creek. The Offroad+ in 4H performs awesome on that curvy sand road.
I was doing about 70 at the end and didnāt see the pavement up ahead and almost jumped it to the other side but skidded to a sliding stop just before I got to it.
I was doing the duck thing for a short while but they would always go in the glove box while offroading because they fly all over the dash. After some time the ducks on the dash made my Glad look like a Tijuana taxi so now they go straight to the glove box for my wife to give out when sheās out...
