I’m pretty disappointed with them today. I’ve had Allstate for decades, but have never needed to deal with them in regards to a driver hitting me. I assumed that I’d contact my insurance, pass them my documents, and then they’d take care of getting what I deserve.
I’m actually pretty ignorant...
Yeah, the USAA rep (other driver’s insurance) kept trying to clarify the condition of the windshield, “yes, but are there any cracks in the windshield”…?
Also, my insurance (Allstate) actually told me that I needed to file a claim with the other driver’s insurance (USAA) and that they weren’t part of the process. The only thing Allstate wanted was the accident report so they could file it with the DMV.
Whats “Gupton”? I’m not sure what you’re referring to.
As to fault, the police report shows that I’m not at fault and the driver was cited for reckless driving and failure to maintain control of his vehicle (and identified as at fault). He further admitted to having “one beer” before driving...
I was going about 35-40 mph, but can’t speak for the other vehicle. The dude said he thought that he’d been asleep for several minutes. His car (some type of Toyota) was in bad shape as well. His wheels were broken/shattered into large chunks.
(Bad photo, but the best I could do with the lighting)
Thanks. I’m sorry that I didn’t mention that no one was hurt, beyond that fact that I was in mid-gulp of a soda; the Coke Zero bottle slammed into my nose and exploding into my face when the airbag deployed. Of course my teenage nephew couldn’t stop laughing at that part.
In the end, it’s just...
I was driving my nephew to the airport this morning (4am) when someone decided it was a great time to take a nap behind their wheel and swerved into my lane…only 2 months old…I’m not happy.
There's a story behind it. I'm not much into it myself, but this (and other sites) explain it well...

I for one love these silly oddball rides. I don't understand the motivations of the owner(s), myself, but they sure give me something to giggle about. IMO, it's just a lot of cash wasted, but to each their own. Jeep...Jeep! ?
Yeah, like just about everyone else, get a another estimate. Also, I’d actually like to see some photos of these twisted and bent components, can you post a few?
In the end, even if there’s damage, it seems like something’s getting lost in translation (via terms being used).
Sorry to hear about your loss. You know, I thought all this technology was supposed to make it more difficult for thieves to steal our vehicles?/!
I hope your insurance coverage is solid!
Excellent photos, I really appreciate them. From what I can see, the flaking looks like the normal byproduct of shipping coated metal (from my experience).
Regardless , their design is a trick approach to bed mounting a tire, I really dig it.
If you have a chance, can you share a little more...
Nice carrier. Can you expand on the “minor issues” with the powder coating? I’m looking at buying the same model and want to know what to expect.
Thanks — James.
IMHO, it all depends on your mechanical skill(s) and inclinations. I've installed several lifts on JKU's (and many other vehicles over the past 25 years) and I've got a lot of mechanical experience/tools, so I'd never pay someone to do it.
That being said, if you're in doubt of your skills it's...
Looks great. I ran a Teraflex 3” kit on my JKUR for 7 years and never had any issues with it. Coming from the JK I’m actually surprised there aren’t more people running Teraflex kits on their JTs (at least from what I see here).
So, when you say “getting used to how it drives”, what do you...
