I’ll throw out another option. 0w30. Not really popular but available. I run it in my JT. I use mobile 1 0w30 widely available on Amazon etc. But I’m also old school so I change my oil at 5000 in the JT, 3000 in my old jeeps.
Ask yourself two questions. 1. Does my final drive work for my driving conditions? IE can you still use top gear how you drive the Jeep. 2. Is my first gear low enough for my usage? IE towing (getting a load moving) or offroading (is 1st low enough for how you wheel without using low...
Based on your original post I think you’re fine. Understanding that a gladiator is not an IFS pickup and is not a sports car are the big things. I personally think my gladiator is the most useful vehicle I’ve owned. Perfect size, some towing capacity, some hauling capacity, excellent off...
Well….i live in the mountains where it snows and do a lot of steep rocky loose dirt muddy roads etc. We (my work in public safety) buy those factory wildpeaks for all our pickups. I don’t care for how they look (too modern) for me…but the joke around here is they are the official tire of the...
I put Ducks in the same category as a giant wing on your Honda Civic…dumb…but I also appreciate the fact that it shows someone is still into cars trucks and things that go, so while it’s not AT ALL for me you do you.
Go onto Amazon (or pick retailer) they have larger wheel weights (stick on) 1oz each (sometimes larger). Take them to the tire shop when balancing. I used them when balancing mud tires on steel wheels on my TJ…works fine. I think one of mine took 8 oz….goes down the road fine.
It’s pretty darn easy…the cartridge area is smaller than you think. Of course I do have a 3/4 ton pickup also…so hauling stuff goes to the Cummins.
I have the roll n lock m series xt on my JT. I’ve had soft covers, tri fold hard covers, and camper shells on various trucks. The roll and lock is hands down the most useful cover I’ve ever used. It offers security, seals good, and most importantly is by far the easiest to use daily of any...
We would enter from sandbridge (we lived in Pungo) when I was little because we had that property in Corolla and a PO Box at that post office…otherwise you couldn’t. Mom said the guy (at the post office) would just put junk mail in their box. But the government soon did away with that even if...
Grew up driving that Corolla duck area…I watched a bronco burn to the ground after overheating on pennys hill in the 1990s. I believe my mom (who with my dad had a lot beach access only near there until the 90s) told me in the late 70s pennys hill washed or blew away in a storm and “breeds”...
Yes…big tires have always been a thing…but as the race to fit larger tires took off the manufacturers started making stock vehicles fit/for much larger tires. My 1984 bronco 2 required 6 inches of lift to fit 33s (and a fender trim). A 1997 stock TJ 31s ish. My stock 23 gladiator can fit 35s...
I purchased my 23 gladiator used in 24 (at 900 miles). Someone graciously added a winch bumper when new. This week I hit a deer, bumper took the impact zero damage, broke my fender flare etc. This made me think, who made this bumper, if I do need to replace it or repair what brand etc.
Can...
Looks like it’s leaking where the elocker wiring enters the housing. Seems to be fairly common from what I’ve seen. No big deal easy fix and it’s not big leak so don’t sweat it.
It’s poor paint prep. Some oil etc was on the surface. Definitely a factory defect. Don’t think there will be much argument over it with the dealer. They should fix you up.
I have run Valvoline high mileage oil in numerous vehicles for many years.
I currently run it in my 99 XJ Cherokee 4.0 and my 98 TJ wrangler 2.5. I also run it in two antique vehicles currently. I can’t tell you if it’s better or worse than anything else but none of my vehicles burn any oil...
This exact thing happened to me on my Cummins (older date code I found out later). Probably 10,000 miles, cracking. I was pissed. Lucky my buddy ran the tire shop so he prorated me a new set for almost nothing. Here’s an old pic I found of them.
