As I wait for my JTR to be built/delivered, I've been agonizing over a winch choice, below is my spreadsheet trying to make sense of all these details.... I'm still up in the air about Wire Vs. Synthetic but leaning towards Synthetic due to the safety aspects and having my younger (12,8,6) kids...
I usually just sticker bomb my gun safe, added my Jeep one from Z-Automotive but had to turn it 90 degrees to make an "N" since my first name starts with that... Hope to add quite a few more Jeep ones to the mix. My daughter has added quite a few here as well. These are from all my hobbies...
I thought that too but I I wanted to connect them to the high beam switch, shouldn’t I take power from the battery and then a relay to the power on from the high beams? I hate to burn two aux switches for one set of lights. I may get these first and do just that. Then see if additional light is...
for those with the Lp6 or 9 and the aux switches, what are you doing as far as wiring? I'm a bit nervous about being able to turn on the lo and hi at the same time. is there anyway to have say Aux1 as the main switch and then tie the light into my high beam stalk to switch to it's high beam? Or...
I'm in the same boat.. Hydro Blue JTR with black fenders... Was planning to do the black stripe on the tailgate, thought the black grill would look good but worried it would be too much. Plus I have the front camera and am worried about switching all the junk over. aka I'm lazy.
So I think the RR Arcus is it, I can mount my BD LP6 on some of these, It appears there is enough of a gap beside the winch and the top of the bumper that these would work and not block the light due to the hooks.. There's enough wiggle room when installing these that I'm 90% sure it will work...
Holy shit, that's perfect! I'm planning almost an identical setup to you except I was going to go with either LP4 or most likely LP6s. Did you get their skid plate as well? Or do you know if I can reuse the Rubi skid?
Has anyone installed one of these? Looks too good to be true... I'm less concerned about the bumper but worried about how stout the winch plate will be. I tried searching the forum for reviews but nothing came up...
If you're still llooking, I will have bare basic JTR wheels for sale in about a month. I'm having them taken off at delivery for some AEV wheels but the tires/TPMS will not be on them. I'm in Pittsburgh.
I just factory ordered a hydro blue JTR with painted top and black fenders. I liked the look of the blue with the painted top but know better than to wheel with painted fenders here in wooded PA.
I would agree (and i certainly thought long and hard about it when ordering my JTR) but the cost was stupid to me. by the time I get my winch installed, i'd be in over a grand on the OEM bumper and if I'm spending that much, may as well get one exactly how I'd like.
I believe there is a ridge of sorts on the outer shell where these would mount that makes that not possible. plus it would push the shell back 1/4" towards the body and I don't know that is feasible either. I'm just speculating based on pictures and lots of bumper oogling these days.
That looks perfect! Did you have to do anything crazy to get the Rubi skid to work? I see on LoD's site they sell "frame tie in brackets" but not listed at the link in this thread, are they needed?
