I have a short, steep ramp into my shed. Trying not to excessively slip the clutch, I was killing it almost half the time. As stated by BryantJT, I just started throwing it in 4L. Provided a 2-fer benefit: made backing in easy and loosened up the transfer case shifting. BTW mine is a JTR...
If you are talking about the bumper mounted hitch, I have the Curt trailer hitch mounted on a stock Rubicon bumper. I could take some measurements if that would help.
On a side note, recommend you take a quick look at the owner's manual regarding the fob and key access. The fob has a mechanical key that can be used to unlock the door. Additionally, if the fob battery dies (or in your case the aux battery has problems), the fob can still start the vehicle if...
Happy with my manual JTR. As others have said 6th is a really tall gear and rarely used if there are any hills. If you're not getting the Rubi w/the 4.10 gears, I would definitely spend some time driving one if it had the 3.73s. Clutch is extremely soft but I've gotten used to it. Gear...
I wanted a Rubicon or Mojave from the beginning. My profile: weekend truck to haul my mountain bike, kayak, and pull a small trailer (less than 3000 lbs); occasional light off-roading; trips to the local lumber yard for supplies, mulch, etc. I planned to order a Mojave, but after really...
Sorry for the thread hijack, but I do have a TPMS question: Does the spare (Rubicon) have a TPMS sensor. Guess I could go out to the garage and throw on my spare, but I'm being lazy and thought I would ask here first.
Respectfully disagree. Turbos were a semi closed deck block with MLS head gaskets, in addition to a lower compression ratio than the NA (unless skinny pedal made boost gauge go clockwise). The turbo 2.5 would go to 200k if you kept it stock and didn’t drive it like a 16 year old kid.
Negative. The turbos had a different hg than the NAs, plus, it was running stock boost and most of it's life was highway with the cruise control set. It seemed the folks with turbos and hg issues were almost always modded running higher boost, and driving the crap out of them. 140,000 miles...
I'm looking for one. Where in TN? My son is in Huntsville, AL and could get him to take a trip across the border if you're close. Otherwise I would need it shipped to Southeast Alabama. $150 shipped?
I see you have the 6-speed. The HVAC system is not coming on by itself, it is coming on when you shift into 3rd or 5th and your knuckle/finger hits the auto button or hits the fan bezel...I do it all the time. Some people have also accidentally hit the hazards button while shifting.
Same with my JTR. Outside air opens up and brings in outside air (which is hot and humid here in SE Alabama at the moment). Occurs every 45 minutes or so and lasts no more than a couple minutes on mine. Definitely something in the programming. Probably something an engineer thought was a...
My JTR was not equipped with the tow package, just the Class II hole in the bumper (under the plastic bumper cover). I needed a 2" receiver for accessories (bike rack, kayak bed extension, tow hitch/ball). Initially looked at changing the entire bumper but cost and availability led me to this...
What kind of bed-liner, hard plastic? I'm not a fan of the hard plastic drop-in liners as it is difficult to clean the accumulation of dirt, leaves, etc. which can lead to corrosion. With that said, I purchased a Smartliner "drop-in" liner. It is a heavy rubber that only covers the bed bottom...
