Looking to upgrade my mirror option with the doors removed. Bought low end version and they don't stay in place at anything over 35 mph. What are some better options?
I had a similar problem with my Mojave. Ultimately went with a rock hard bumper with a receiver built in. Bolted right on super easy and had an integrated winch plate and bull bar which were upgrades I wanted.
Rides great, no rubbing on tight turns or over dunes with speed. Still pulls my travel trailer (3000lbs) no problem. Don't feel any need to re gear. Speedo off by 3 mph at 70.
Thanks for all the feedback. I went with the steel mid-width mostly because it has the receiver built in. Love the look and didn't appreciate any noticeable drop in the front end. I am sure there was some but if I can't tell by looking I am ok with it. Only issue I had was the factory led fog...
I think the newer redarc harness is corrected for the gladiator. I saw several videos where a mod was necessary but the latest redarc install video says its plug and play. I did not have to change anything during my install this spring.
I went with the Toyo At's in 35X 11.50. Only one I could find that was within specs for the stock Mojave rims. I didn't need the 12.50"s though, not hitting anything too hard and figured the 11.50 would do a little better in the rain. Love the tires, less noise then the Falkens, though I do love...
I like the wave but I grew up waving at just about anyone driving any kind of truck Just a sign to say "I see you working hard". Now its not quite the same but still do it out of habit. Makes me feel good when i get a wave so why not make someone else feel good. More impressive to me is that if...
Awesome adventure and great info sharing. thanks for taking the time and effort to share your experience with the group. I will repeat the question from above- what is the grill/stove box you have? Also, where are you sleeping? it looks like the Alucab was full, you in the back seat?
PS-...
I have the bak revolvr hard roll up. Used it to replace Mopar trifold for visibility when rolled/folded up. Easy install, no vibration at speed like some of the soft versions. Also compatible with the xtrusion overland rack I have on order.
Just what it says on their website under specs for the rock hard. For the rubi just added up the shipping weight on quadratec for mopar steel bumper, skid plate and winch plate kit. Might be over estimating by counting the shipping weight.
Looking at rock hard bumper for my Mojave. The aluminum bumper is listed as crazy light - like 37lbs. Steel is 140lbs but that is including the built in skid plate and winch plate so by my math that's the same as the factory steel bumper on the rubicon with the same options. Question is , with...
