  1. Help! Two very different spring pads from rubi take off

I put gray on passenger side and black on divers side. The gray one has substantial difference in that the plastic on the side is much taller. I guess that taller area would hold the spring better?
  2. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I swapped out all four shocks and front springs with rubi take offs. Back springs looked like more then I could handle after being worn out with completing the front. Pretty happy as this was the first time I have done this type of work myself. Generally would bring it to a shop. Nothing in the...
  3. Help! Two very different spring pads from rubi take off

 Thanks guys. I got A little excited this morning. Swapped out shocks all around with rubi take offs and swapped out the front springs as well. I have rear springs but after getting the front shocks/springs competed I was wiped and just did rear shocks. At this point I may just keep...
  4. Help! Two very different spring pads from rubi take off

I bought a set of rubi take off springs and shocks. The guy also have me two spring “pads”. One pad is grey(68466077AA) and has some noticeable differences from the black one(68342250AC). Should use these or will I be safe with the pads already on my truck? The guy did install a 2 inch Mopar...
  5. Those Who Swapped to Rubicon Shocks/Springs

My Willys front is roughly two inches lower then the rear. I do have some rubi take off springs and shocks I’m hoping to get on soon. Rubi take offs are from a hardtop and steel bumper JT so hoping for roughly a inch lift.
  6. shocked by shock and spring replacement cost

Just picked up rubi take off springs and shocks. Local shop charges $100/hr and they believe this will be a 2 to 3 hour job. I really wish to do it myself but I lack the floor jack, jack stands, torque wrench, and high torque impact. I’m not sure I would ever use the tools again so I figure the...
  7. FCA free touch up paint

Touch up pen arrived in the mail today. Purchased my Willys in April. Nice surprise. I have had one oil change and rotation done at the dealership I purchased from about a month ago.

  10. At what point are additional skids needed?

I’m interested in the rancho diff skids. I have yet to research them. Do they seem hefty? I don’t see a lot of options on diff covers with the way the stock suspension gets real close to the stock covers. I think a beefier cover would be best but no room.
  11. At what point are additional skids needed?

Rustys and rock hard control arm skids are now installed. The rear shock skids from rock hard reuse the shock bolt. The bolt ends up being just long enough to have the nut thread up to the point of being flush with the end of the bolt. I did elongate the front bolt hole on the rustys, installed...
  12. At what point are additional skids needed?

Just eyeballing the rear shock as the truck sits in the driveway, there looks to be a lot of extra thread available. Seems like the nut would not have an issue catching and then the plate may squeeze in a little with torquing the nut down. No telling though until I can actually get to the shop...
  13. At what point are additional skids needed?

So I just received these but they are not installed. There are some sizable bolts in the package. Here is a list of the packing contents. I hope everything that is needed is included.
  14. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Standing on it is a no go. I think you could get a couple hundred pounds on it but the weight needs to be distributed. I picture something like a heavy mattress where the weight is spread out. Not water proof but very little water gets in. Where I live it has gone through many heavy rain events...
  15. At what point are additional skids needed?

I don’t have the tools to get the control arms off and torqued back on. A local shop is going to install them along with the rock hard 4x4 skids. They have a $100/hr shop fee but I don’t think it would take them over an hour on a lift with their air tools. So I eyeballed how large the holes need...
  16. At what point are additional skids needed?

Received my Rustys skids. With limited tools I was able to elongate the two front holes for install. I then hit them with a couple coats of primer and a couple coats of tool box red. Rustoleum products.
  17. I am 0 for 2 trying to install skid plates

I don’t understand what is going on with the rustys. It seems like a 50/50 deal on getting them to fit without having to make adjustments. Seems like these would all be fabricated to the same specs. I just ordered mine so I will find out soon.
  18. At what point are additional skids needed?

I have the rock hard and rustys lower control arm skids on order. I have enough in the current budget for the metalcloak rear diff protection or the asfir engine/transmission skid. Not sure which of those is the bigger need short term. Both areas look exposed. Overall plan is protection for...
  19. Stickers and decal pics!

If you look at the top of the L vs the top of the last S you can tell there is an slight upward angle towards the drivers side. Another set of hands would have helped but really the decal sheet was so long that it was hard to keep in place to begin with. I used painters tape in the corners and...
  20. Stickers and decal pics!

First time adding a decal to a vehicle and well it’s not straight. Not the worst to make me peel it off immediately but I’m going to inquire for a new one from the group I just joined and have a shop or someone who knows what they are doing install it.
