Some, myself included, will take off the front doors and leave the rears. This way it still allows the driver to control the windows.

Only issue with the last point is you're also going to attract law enforcement attention with that. By federal law, it has to be visible. If they spot it parked somewhere public, they can tow it until they confirm it's not stolen. Low risk, but not zero risk.
