There are definitely a lot of states that have laws controlling the tint levels allowed and they vary greatly. I would have to assume Jeep would have to cater to the lowest of those laws otherwise they'd have some massive problems selling vehicles in some states.

You're right. You can actually see the message on the dash if you scroll up to the ESS menu. It says something like ESS not ready, Air Conditioning on.

I like the two colors together, but I think it's questionable if it will look good in person. It doesn't match sarge. Might look good on a pumpkin, or all black.
