I towed a Forest river nobo camper (roughly 3/4 the size of yours) with my '16 JK Rubicon this summer on a fairly long trip from Colorado springs up to Yellowstone, back down to Moab and back through Pagosa springs to Colorado springs. needless to say I wasn't very impressed with its capability...
That's the TJ Sahara I've got now. I really do like that Green/Tan color combo they used to come with and I'm not sure why they ended up going away from a color scheme like that. Don't get me wrong, I do occasionally catch myself looking at the "New" green color scheme (Mojito) and I think its...
I read an interview with one of the FCA engineers assigned to the towing project for the gladiators. He stated that it was an airflow issue. Hence why the grill openings on the gladiator are wider than the JL and the honeycomb pattern also has larger openings. They're designed so that they would...
I was thinking the same thing... That looks pretty close to Gobi IMO. If that's what they're calling Gator then really didn't diversify those two colors very well. I was hoping for something a little more Green.
Something like that would be wonderful! The issue is that I don't think DOT will approve this stuff (or anything like it). Optic armor is pretty resistant to cracks and breaks, but the DOT wont approve it due to in an emergency it cant be broken to let rescue workers in/someone trapped out. So...
Yea that would add some extra debris I imagine. You'd think someone would have engineered a DOT approved product that wouldn't chip or crack nearly as easily as new generation jeep glass. I've heard good things about the optic armor windshields but its not DOT approved for on road use. .
HAHAHAHA I was honestly expecting "my Galdiator's motor fell out today", but this story took a nice, positive turn. Congrats! I keep checking my dealers webpage hoping one shows up optioned like I want instead of having to wait out the clock on my order.
Mainly just the low end torque vs the pentastar is the only real selling point I was interested in originally... But once you start to factor in all the extra costs i.e. $3k-$5K for the diesel "package", more on gas, more on maintenance then multiplied by the life of the engine...that Hemi swap...
That's just cause your in Colorado where they lay down sand/pea gravel in the winter instead of salt. Its almost a yearly tradition at this point. I expect at least one chip/crack every spring with my JK and TJ.
I ordered the same color combo. Its nice to get a look at a real one instead of just looking at jeeps rendering on the build page and hoping it looks how I picture it. The color matched top and fenders look pretty sharp.
So Just placed my order last week and skipped the bedliner option. Do we know what the other hold up items are/were? Also, I am new to this whole process so from what I am tracking from this thread is:
1. Vin awarded
2. D/D1 (Scheduling) status
3. Build sheet
4. JB Status
5. I Status
6. KZ/KZS...
