108 deg yesterday and I'll be applying MORE spray on adhesive when it calms down a bit this weekend. TOTALLY worth it though, just got back from 1400 mi / 7 day "car camping" trip, the noise and temp control is very effective.
I didn't use enough 3M tape and the included film doesn't stick that great to the Kilmat. I got some "mechanics" spray adhesive, it's not holding well. I'm getting some of the metal adhesive from the shop at work, hopefully that will work - in fact, I've been told that I'd better REALLY want it...
Heck I had my '97 Ranger transferred over 300 miles from another dealer, in state. Break-in back then meant a lot more than it does these days. I changed to full synthetic on that truck at 500 miles, didn't break in / increase gas mileage until 18,000 miles later!
Ummm, locked rear diff in 2Hi isn't anything in the menus without a Tazer, nor unlocked front swaybar, among other things. Rear brake lock turns, line lock, all sorts of silly stuff. DEFINITELY not in the menus, just sayin'.
Did you torque your control arm bolts while the Jeep was sitting level on the ground? Almost sounds like the bushings are bound up, from torque set when the axles are flexed down.
I don't consider the OEM shocks to be "Fox" shocks, they are tuned to Jeep's soft specs. I have a set of four Fox 2.0's sitting on the shelf for the 2.5" lift I'll put on eventually (when my wife gets used to the idea). Shocks aren't as important as tires offroad, but unless you're talking about...
Embedded systems are a complex hardware task to put together. I'm fine with resources being spent on upgrades and refinements of the management software; not having to use a DB9 to upgrade firmware is a huge bonus to my mind!
Bluetooth is just now past being total ass for serial communication...
I think the Maverick is a super neat little truck, my wife is talking about one for her mom. Ford saw a niche everyone else ignored, then really put a lot of thought and engineering into it. Good on them, and I will point out that success from a domestic maker raises ALL boats!
Not available for JT's according to their site: https://www.mevotech.com/parts-results/?date=2020&make=Jeep&model=Gladiator&submodel=Rubicon&drivetype=4WD
Fellow at work has had a ZR2 for several years now. Great truck, he's a big Chevy guy but is happier with the smaller Colorado over the Silverado he traded off. Not as luxurious by a long shot, but way better for his "old man out hunting" activities and driving around town.
Same problems as...
I miss my '97 Ranger, I think it's hilarious the "small bed" gave me a higher payload rating, by a LOT, than the rental 2002 RAM pickup I had to drive for two months following a t-bone incident with a Mercury Grand Marquis.
Lots of extra sheetmetal doesn't do you any favors off road. Come to...
I just remembered an important detail, if you add a scope to a pellet gun, it MUST be rated for the recoil of an air rifle. Many high end scopes now are, but it wasn't unusual to destroy a decent scope on an air rifle back in the day.
The UTG Super Slim handguards for AR's were a revelation ten years ago, people still remark how concise and efficient they are. Used them for a number of my builds.
Lots of made in USA stuff from them, as well. I appreciate good value, not cheap stuff!
Aaaaandd, I just realized I haven't built...
