  1. Overhead grab handles?

If that happened to my wife Iā€˜d hear about it 25 years on!
  2. Blown engine under 12K miles

It is entirely possible to put a piston through the block of any gas engine built. It only requires the correct conditions to exist - like flooding a cylinder with coolant which cause a hydraulic lock, a bent/broken con rod and voila!
  3. Remote start on cold weather package...seats or wheel don’t come on..

Is it set-up in the U-connect panel to turn on?
  4. Blown engine under 12K miles

Sorry to burst your bubble but in 35 years of maintenance work in heavy duty diesel applications up to 4000 hp, I have personally seen no less than a dozen grenaded blocks with at least 1 and on 1 in particular, 3 pistons right through the block. Inertia and force from a disconnected rod allows...
  5. First impressions after 500 Miles in a FULLY loaded EcoDiesel Gladiator Rubicon

I think if you check, Mojave and Overland High Altitude have different axles: Dana 210M on the front and Dana 220M on the rear. These are the wider axles.
  6. Nice honest review on EcoDiesel

Iā€˜ll add to the conversation with my experience having owned a Gen2 3.0 in a Ram 1500. First off, the earlier engines were delivered with incorrect oil spec - 5W-30 - albeit the Eurospec oil. In July 2016 the oil spec got changed to 5W-40, and the recommendation is Rotella T6. My truck had the...
  7. Diesel owners, if you lived in Canada.....

My Canada diesel JTHA is on order and I will buy the longest best warranty offered. Why? Because of re-sale value, even on trades. It will add significant $$ to the value, and generally move quickly. Meanwhile I’m well covered. BTW, I plan on keeping it, hopefully the last vehicle I ever purchase.
  8. EcoDiesel JT High Altitude

Agree. ESS makes complete sense on a gasser, and no sense at all on a diesel - UNLESS - the turbo is allowed to run and is fed oil during the ESS downtime. I will always run my diesel with ESS disabled.
  9. 2021 Gladiator High Altitude Thoughts?

Thanks DirkG, appreciate the supportive comment. So now I will have a JTHA? Lol
  10. All Diesel Specific Talk/Topics

My 2016 Ram 3.0 behaved very well on the regen system. I could drive it on short runs around town for about 20 days and then get a pop-up telling me to drive at highway speed until full regen was complete. I could drive at 50 mph for 7 or 8 minutes, then reduce to 35 mpg for 5 minutes and regen...
  11. 2021 Gladiator High Altitude Thoughts?

Very well done, thanks for the update!
  12. 2021 Gladiator High Altitude Thoughts?

Well, I ordered one of these yesterday, Snazzberry, diesel, and yes, the 20ā€s. I don’t plan to do any rock climbing, but I do enjoy trail rides, open country driving, and getting to remote lakes. These have the same Dana M210/M220 axle set-up as the Mojave. I will get to lift and tire mods when...
  13. Just Ordered? Check in HERE!

Ordered an Overland High Altitude today, Snazberry Pearl diesel. Really nicely equipped. Dealer says expect 8-12 weeks delivery. Crap.
  14. WINTER FRONT

Hey, I am curious to know from purchasers of the diesel JT if it comes with a winter front from the factory. My 2016 Ram Limited diesel did, and it was a very good front. Thanks
  15. How do you negotiate?

At this point I throw them a ā€œretail to retail; or wholesale to wholesale ā€œ comment. It has got the sales guys overthinking a few times and I got some really pricing on the trade -in.
  16. Am I the only one having spark knock issues?

I have an issue with my 3.6 in the GC. At cold start-ups only, it runs rough and seems to be a miss in the spark, but I don’t think it is actually a miss. The condition is enough that I notice it through the seat - a lot of bumps/vibration. I checked the exhaust pipe and it is tight. I also...
