Thanks for posting these, they were very helpful. But could you provide the dimensions of the actual MOLLE panels that attach to the back wall of the bins please? I'm trying to determine if the items I want to attach to those will fit or not before I commit to getting a bin. Thanks.
Fair enough, maybe I'm not explaining it that well. How about this:
Lets put the Mojave and the Rubicon on and imaginary paved hill with an incline of say 10°. Both trucks are basically the same (where it matters for this situation) with the exception of gear ratio. If we continue to...
Maybe you should go back and reread my post. I said that I needed the lower gearing in that situation. Then I went on to say that when I do need any of the other tools the Rubicon has, I have them. I did not say I needed the lockers ect. for Imogene.
Again, go back and reread my post. I...
Nope, the trailer does not weigh that much. But the JT did have issues pulling it up Imogene even in 4Lo. I know how it drove on that trip, and I'm fairly certain a Mojave would not have done what I did.
I am running 35s on stock size wheels, but you don't need to re-gear for that. If I put...
Dry weight is 1700lbs and Max GVW is 3500lbs. I figure I was close to the max for that trip. I've got 4.10s and the eight speed auto, whatever the final drive ratio is on that... I don't know it off the top of my head.
I have not re-geared because for 98% of my driving I don't need it. The...
I'll also add that the lower gear ratio of the Rubicon can be a bonus for overlanding, not just for bashing rocks. I dragged my overlanding trailer to 11,000 feet on Imogene Pass here in CO with my JTR. I could not have done that in a Sport or Mojave with their taller gearing. The JT just...
Be mindful that inside coil airbags are known to get pinched and deflate when offroading. I had it happen to me in my JKUR. I can't recall what company it is, but someone out there is working on some Kevlar sleeves to help prevent this.
Oh, the Jeep waves are nice and I miss getting them (everyone waved at my JKUR and very few wave at the JT) as well. But on a purchase this large, the waves are trivial.
Sorry if I was not clear before. For the Milky Way photos I am not taking multiple images and merging them. If I light a larger foreground subject in one of those shots, I merge the lit areas of the images. I never do multiple exposures to capture the MW (you can do it that way, I just...
This is the LED panels that I've been using for the last 5 years:
The new one I bought is this one. I've not done a shoot with it, but it should work just as well at a 1/5 of the cost. I can't speak to longevity for it though.
I shoot with Canon DSLR cameras and mostly Canon L glass. For...
I have a small LED panel that I use to light my foregrounds for those types of shots. Getting a good Milky Way shot of both the truck and the trailer is difficult. You have to use a really wide angle lens to get everything in the shot (without doing a panoramic) and that often distorts the...
Thanks again for the info and quick responses, this is really good customer support (but perhaps the dimensions should be listed on the site some place?).
You said that for the bin details the Engineering department is putting that info together still. Does that mean the bins are not currently...
Does the full bin attach differently in the front than it does in there rear? If they attach the same, would it not be possible to use a passenger side half bin on the driver's side? Thus, having it to the front of the bed?
Thanks for the detailed responses. It's a bummer that the vent is taller than the rails. That means nothing can be flush mounted over that area of the cap.
One last question (for now lol), what is the spacing between the two rails?
We have both a 2020 Gladiator Rubicon and a 2020 Laramie. The JT is mine and the wife drives the Laramie. If I'm not hitting the trails or going camping, I'd rather take the Laramie. As a family, we never take the JT unless it is for those two activities.
So, if you don't hit the dirt...
