  1. Advice before buying

Ok, so I am a first time Jeep owner. I have driven Jeeps before of course but I come from a long history of owning many different trucks from a Ranger, S10 and Tacoma to F250 diesel and GMC and Ford 1500 series. So I have owned lots of trucks. The main difference I would say be aware of is that...
  2. Shifting into 4H

I shifted mine into 4H for the first time at a stand still. I was almost to the point of stopping so I didn’t break anything before it finally went into 4H. I put it back into 2H and then tried same barely creeping forward and it slid right in with an expected amount of effort. Manual recommends...
  3. Jeep Gladiators Burn to Death During Battery Jump

That kind of thing is going to happen when the jumper cables either have a short between the leads or they connected them backwards.
  4. Steering issues after Mopar Leveling kit installed

Could be the play in the steering gear box that became exaggerated from the lift. There is a video describing checking for and adjusting this. Look at this link...
  5. New guy here

Welcome to the Jeep life and the forum. As previously mentioned I hope your ready to spend a bunch more money. But look what you have to look forward too! A cool truck, empty wallet and jealous spouse. who could ask for anything more???? :jk: :CWL:
  6. JT owners post your MPG

I did notice in the 55 mph zones where 60 was an ok speed to run without people trying to run me over I got very similar numbers to what you are talking about ShadowsPapa. All in all, I am happy with the MPG. I came from a truck so it isn’t a surprise for me. I just wish the gas tank was 4-5...
  7. Damn...Cited for no doors and wide tires.

For NC. Here is directly from the statute. NC General Statute 20-126 paragraph b. (b) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate upon the highways of this State any vehicle manufactured, assembled or first sold on or after January 1, 1966 and registered in this State unless such...
  8. JT owners post your MPG

Overland with Rubi takeoffs and getting an average 19-19.6 combined just about 2k miles on it after my last trip to the beach. Was getting 20-23 on the interstate at 65-75 but roads were really flat.
  9. Is it dorky to only take off the front doors?? POLL

What???? Nothing says lovin like a rock to the forehead! But I wouldn’t be as concerned with the side impact as much as I would something flying in and hitting them. In my last truck I was going through an intersection and from the other oncoming lane there was a big 3500 dually pulling a ditch...
  10. Damn...Cited for no doors and wide tires.

I agree for the most part they will leave you alone. At least that has been my experience but being a middle aged man that is just riding around not blasting my radio or giving the perception as being a punk. Even if they do pull me over, having to identify myself as an armed CCP holder up front...
  11. Damn...Cited for no doors and wide tires.

Just as an FYI you can get a ticket for no side mirrors in NC. You need at least a driver side mirror.
  12. Is it dorky to only take off the front doors?? POLL

I think backs off only may be a bit strange looking. Honestly haven’t seen Anyone rocking that configuration before. Not that is is right or wrong, good or bad. I still say do your thing. That is the key to the Jeep in my mind make it you and if that fits you and your purpose then you are using...
  13. Flares scratched not even 100 miles

Be far cheaper to just spray them during the process of doing the bed. Maybe 40-100 bucks more? Much cheaper than replacing and far more durable as stated earlier. May want to go a tad thinner on the flares than the bed since it really only is for scratch protection.
  14. Flares scratched not even 100 miles

If I may suggest. Some line-x or bullet liner would be a good fix for them. Near the same texture and way more durable while maintaining the black finish. I am not condoning or making the actions of the cat or the cat’s owner. I highly dislike cats being outside personally and the same goes for...
  15. Jeeps Parking Next To Jeeps

Here are the last couple times I was able to capture some. First two are mine (white) and notthatjoesmith’s (Black rubi) when I met him to get my soft top. Then today I walked out to this beautiful white Sahara perched beside me. Enjoy!
  16. FCA gone

Wow, I just realized Fiat car lots have fizzled out in the US market. The only solely Fiat dealership in my area I was aware of is now an Alfa Romeo lot. Then looking for any new Fiats yields only a sparse few at the Chrysler/Dodge/Ram/Jeep/Fiat hybrid lots. It does appear they are still...
  17. Latching VS. Momentary AUX Switch Uses

I would think winch control from the driver or passenger seat would be a great option. But basically anything that has its own internal power controller timer controller or latching relay of its own. You could put a timer relay on an ARB compressor so it only runs for a few minutes and then...
  18. Anyone else able to see through their bed to the ground?

My guess is that bumper could be adjusted a bit to compensate. However, with the rake it may make it appear even more out of whack. It also may cause the vehicle to ride up onto the hood of another vehicle more easily if the truck was rear ended.
  19. FCA gone

Chrysler continued to use the original AMC motor until 1991 when the 360 could still be found in the grand wagoner. Not sure if the 304 was still an option in that year. Pontiac V8 motors were unique to the brand through the 70’s maybe earlier 80’s the 455 SD from the Trans Am. As for a unique...
  20. Raising Overland fenders to Rubicon height?

The only way that I could think of would involve a good body man and would likely be more expensive than the previously mentioned option of buying the rubicon fenders.
