The JT had a good last few weeks.
I got a great deal on a used Lone Peak Camper. So, two weeks ago, the kid and I drove 9 hours on a Friday, we swapped it to my truck on Saturday morning and then headed back home and stopped to use it and camped for the night.
I haven't done it yet, but will be soon. My friend who does tint has it on his work truck (standard cab Chevy 1500) as well as 25% on the doors and the temperature difference on a hot day is amazing.
This is kind of a "TO and WITH" worthy post...
Drove from Huntington Beach to Sacramento to buy a used Lone Peak Camper. Then drive back and stop at Pismo for a photo op and continue to Sycamore Canyon Campground for the night.
I need to install my Metal Cloak 3.5" Game Changer asap. 🙂
I've had a ton of cars/trucks, but right now it's just the JT, my wife's Hyundai Tuscon hybrid, and our mostly original (8" rear end from a mustang, lowered 2" and was repainted before I bought it) 63 Falcon Futura Convertible. It's a 170ci 6cyl with the 2spd Cruise-O-Matic so it's slow as can...
I only installed the front and left the back completely stock.
I will say though without the spacer in the rear, when it’s completely flexed out my rear tires (37s) barely touch the fenders. I also have the Rubicon so they are the high clearance for stock fenders.
Until I get a "real" lift, I have the front AEV 2" spacers only, and no geo brackets with 37s. I wanted to get rid of the rake... I don't notice a difference in handling from stock (bumps steer or wondering) without them. This is my daily driver/weekend warrior as well.
I found an 2" AEV used for $100 and only installed the front to fit 37s and get rid of the rake. I couldn't see spending full price for it. This is my daily driver/weekend warrior until I save enough to get a "real" lift. I'm happy with it until then.
I originally just cut off the rear resonator because I was bored on a Sunday afternoon, and there really wasn’t much of a difference. I didn’t want it loud but I wanted to notice it when I got on it. I got rid of both resonators and replaced the muffler with an 18" Magnaflow, and it's perfect...
A few more mods in the last week or so.
The Quadratec hitch came in, so that was installed.
I was slow at work today, so I took a break at the local muffler shop and had a 14” Magnaflow installed. I kept the front resonator and got rid of the rear resonator. It sounds just like I wanted...
I hope this is in the right spot…
I have a green Prolink that I took off my old rig. I’m looking to sell it, or trade it for a different color (black or red) flatlink.
