  1. Jeep Jamboree hype?

Both the Jeep Jamboree groups also do a lot to maintain the trail. The cost depends on how you view it. You get breakfast for three days, lunch for two days, dinner for two days. Camping spot/permit. Free mechanics and a cache of jeep parts available. They have a helicopter available if...
  2. Installed Eibach 1" lift rear shocks.

That was the original plan, but I was all out of duct tape. Back up plan was strong epoxy glue, but didn't find it in my garage. So I played pin the rubber nipple in the tiny hole while holding the coil and isolator 29 times each side.
  3. Gold Mountain Big Bear 12/25

Pretty much all of the northern mountain area is one giant trail. They are all connected. The main sections like John bull, Holcomb Creek, gold mountain, heartbreak ridge and dish pan springs are the popular sections. You can spend a few days just wheeling in Big Bear and camping.
  4. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Update got it back from the Dealer. They found nothing wrong with the balljoints, u-joints, and any steering or suspension components. They Retorqued and checked everything. They Found a few more loose skid plate bolts. Which makes sense they got beat up on the rocks in Sedona. The noise is...
  5. Installed Eibach 1" lift rear shocks.

Eibach had everything on sale for Black Friday. So I bought their 1" rear coil springs to compliment my Rancho 1.5" level it front coil springs and Eibach shocks all around. Installed them today, install was easy, rear coils take maybe 25-30 minutes a side. Hardest part is lining up the dam...
  6. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Update, loosened all fuel tank and cross member bolts. Sprayed grease where it's metal on metal. And Retorqued them all. The loud clanking is gone, now all I have is the clicking in the front at full lock steering.
  7. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

2wd, no wheel spacers, lug nuts torqued to 130 ft lbs.
  8. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

That's a good possibility. Would explain the noise during a sharp turn. The bump just gets it even more bound up. Do they usually fail on JL/JT at 14k miles? I put some solid off-road miles on my JT, but really just mild rock crawling on 33s 😂
  9. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

And here it is making a similar clanking sound while offroading last week. I didn't notice cause everything makes noises off-road. But watching the video it's obvious it's the same sound.
  10. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Here is a video of the noise. Only happens during turning with bump (occasionally it clanks once randomly while driving, but only on accel or decel). Once it does happen as long as tires are turned, It will keep happening. Once tires go straight, it clanks for a few times and stops. Like...
  11. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Found some semi loose bolts on the aftermarket skids, snugged them up. Still made the noise.
  12. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Replaced with the OEM track bar and lower control arms today, still made the clunk noise. Im convinced it's a non suspension part.
  13. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Did all of the above, 3-4 times. Today I even replaced the adjustable track bar and lower control arms with the OEM ones to test. Still made the noise. I'm convinced it's a balljoint. See what the dealer says next week. If it is the balljoints, I'm taking my freeby repair under warranty. Next...
  14. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Sort of both. It starts when tires are fully turned to the driver side. If I crawl over the bump, It's a few rhythmic clicks or pop. Then when the bump is hit the loud clanks are due to the tires hitting the bumps. But it only happens at left or right full stop steering. Going straight over...
  15. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

I did install a transfer case skid before the Sedona trip. And all the skids took a couple hits. I'll check those tomorrow. But I laid under the truck and hit everything and nothing rattled. I already took the steering stabilizer off and repeated the entry to drive way. The noise persisted...
  16. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Can't duplicate it without actually moving the jeep forward or backward while hitting the driveway bump. It's very loud and can feel a pop. I tried every which way to get it to bind stationary and make the noise. Even built a platform out of bricks same height as the driveway bump for one tire...
  17. Loud clanking when doing a sharp turn into Driveway.

Well, I'm out of ideas. I Went offroading in Sedona last week. No noise after the trip. Now it's making a clanking sound. Nothing to hard trail wise. 2023 gladiator Sport S, 14,000 miles, 1.5" Rancho Front Coils, Adjustable Track bar, Mopar lower control arms, rancho extended front sway bar...
  18. Best A/T Tires

I have Cooper Rugged Treks in 285/70/17 and SL load. 49 lbs a tire and they're usually on sale. They hold up on the rocks quite well. 700-1000 miles of playing off-road on Big Bear and So-Cal trails. It's a Great mix of mud and all terrain.
  19. Got some new Cooper Rugged Treks! 285/70/17

8000 miles in still look like new and do Fantastic on trails, in snow, and on the road
  20. How big of a winch do I really need?

I have used my 9000lb Warn XD since 2003. It's been through hell on a K5, a 1993 k1500 Blazer, now after a rebuild it's now on my Gladiator. It has never failed to straight pull any of those vehicles (loaded up with gear) up a steep hill. It has pulled full size pickups buried to the frame in...
