I'm making a solo trip out there June 8-10 on my way back to Montana after a work commitment in Flagstaff. I'm just hoping to find a group to roll with. For sure a bucket list for me. I posted to a Facebook group call "Moab Off Road info" and seem to be getting some good suggestion on how to...
I have the AEV Lift and it came with the Procal. Never installed it and think I sold it on Facebook Market place for $50. Granted I had a Tazer before the lift, as all the additional options in the Tazer were way more useful than the Procal. If you want to save money check FB Marketplace or...
This is great. I have the AEV Dual Sport as well and have been thinking about adding a small spacer to lift the front slightly. I've searched on here to see if anyone else did, so thank you for posting this.
The very first time I enabled this on my JT, it seemed to work and the checkbox stayed clicked. After the reboot it will not stay clicked no mater what. Not really an answer, but maybe someone will chime in.
24" Travel Trailer around 5000lbs loaded. 37" tires with stock 4:10 gears. I could defiantly tell the difference from last year when I was on 35" tires. Wasn't too bad, but my trip was only about 30 miles.
I can't tell you about the Mojave lift, but I went from Stock Rubicon with 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers to AEV Dual Sport Standard capacity with 37" Toyo Open Country AT3s and am very happy with it. It's not as sloppy as the Stock Rubicon suspension.
It rode fine. It was at least 300 pounds in wood, as tree wasn't as dry as I thought. Just stock piled for next year. Also, since it was winter in Montana when I got fire wood, I had 120lbs of sand bags in the bed. So probably ~500lbs total.
If you are kitted out for overlanding or lots of...
I have the Standard Capacity springs with this kit. https://www.aev-conversions.com/product/jt-2-5-dualsport-rt-suspension/
Constant weight is a Warn bumper and Warn Winch with steel cable. Running 37s Toyo Open Country AT3.
Shortly after install.
Here it is with a small load of heavy...
I have them with my AEV Dual Sport lift. I love them. The ride difference from the factor Rubicon Fox shocks to these are night and day. My wife and kids get car sick all the time, with the factor suspension it was really bad, with the AEV and the Bilstein 5100s its more tolerable for them.
I might have missed it, but I didn't see anyone mention this. From my understanding, the UV-5r used to be able to work on GMRS freqs, but no longer do without modification. It is set up for HAM freqs. If you want a Baofeng radio that will work on GMRS you need a UV-5g also sometimes called...
It may be different with LED lights, but "back in my day" when adding external lighting, the draw was too much to tap into the courtesy lights. You are correct in a relay being a switch. But the main purpose is a way to not draw power from the courtesy lights. Well, just enough to trigger the...
Are you powering the rock lights directly from the courtesy light, or is that leading to a relay to power the rock lights? I just installed mine directly to the factor aux switch but plan to tap into the courtesy lights to the relay that came with the rock lights.
I put this kit in about two months ago on my 2020 JT Rubicon. Only thing not in the kit that I added was the AEV steering stabilizer. The difference is very noticeable. I do need to check the steering stabilizer though. It was kinda loose when installed, and the other day I noticed a bunch...
37x12.5r18 Open Country AT3, 4:10 gears. Currently my average is around 10. North West Montana winter, so lots of remote start warm up time. Also, my daily commute is 3 miles round trip to work. When I do get out of town and on a highway, I reset my trip computer and get around 15 mpg at ~70 mph.
I have't added the front camera yet, but as I understand it, it will give you the option to add a "Cargo Camera" to your 8.4 radio. When you hit the cargo camera button, your newly installed front camera will turn on.
Check out this video. This guy installed the camera and used the tazer to...
Since it's already installed, your best option is to get the Tazer. There a ton of other benefits outside of just the front camera. Tazer is without a doubt the best modification I've done so far.
I'm not really up to speed with HomeKit, but I imagine all you really need to do is get another door sensor and put it under the hood. As long as you park close enough to your house, it should connect when you get home. Set the alarm to go off when armed at night. Seems like a pretty simple...
