  1. Gear ratio for 37s? Front locker only?

I went with 4:88's with 37's and wish now I'd gone 5:13. I'm in Oklahoma, but frequent NM, CO & Utah. It's fine now on 37" RidgeGrapplers, which on the truck measure 35-3/4". If I ever run a taller tire, and I probably will at some point, I'm gonna wish I'd gone 5:13's.
  2. Merus Adventure Park

Thank You! I'm sure it could have, but I was wheeling with buddy in a well modified Samurai that was having issues all weekend long, so time was a factor for sure. We did the first few miles of Kate-The-Great, but ended up turning around. His rig was carbureted and was having a hard time. I will...
  3. Merus Adventure Park

I spent this last weekend at Merus Adventure Park in Texas. We had a really great time and I highly recommend this place to anyone nearby, or for an overnight stop if you're on the way out west to Utah/Colorado. They have a bunch of trails for all levels. We stayed on the green and blue trails...
  4. Colorado mountains - best time of year to go Offroad trail riding/camping?

Yup. If possible, going before school ends in the spring and after it starts in the fall, you'll have more options for lodging and fewer traffic on the trails.
  5. Tushy Tuesday!! Let's see those Gladiator Rear Ends!

Thank you sir! I was fortunate enough to get in a spring trip to Moab this year and got to wheel with my son in his Samurai. That pic is out front of the VRBO we stayed in. We had a really good trip!
  6. Bad Vibration after Front Driveshaft Install

Yes sir. The other difference was the stock front axle shafts have a CV style joint at the knuckle instead of a conventional u-joint. I had no idea about what I was getting into when I bought it. I wasn't really in the market for one, until the 2023 close out deals started last year. It's an...
  7. Bad Vibration after Front Driveshaft Install

I surely can't account for others, but mine didn't have a FAD from the factory. It had the coupler lockout plate, like the 392's. So yes, mine turns all of the time. However, it still has the 2wd option. So it has 2wd, 4-Auto, 4-Hi, 4-Low. I went with the one piece RCV's, so it's now removed.
  8. Bad Vibration after Front Driveshaft Install

Its a double at the t-case. Unfortunately, since the front spins all of the time, my vibrations are always there, regardless of being in 2wd or 4-auto.
  9. Bad Vibration after Front Driveshaft Install

I'm late to the party, but have a similar situation; 3.5" MetalCloak lift , running an Adam's front driveshaft, with the factory FAD delete (2023 Rubi JT with the 4-Auto optioned T-Case). The shop that did the work took a couple of tries, but they got the vibration pretty minimal. I'll have to...
  10. Regear/Axle Advice

Another thing to possibly think about, is if you ever plan on towing anything. If so, I'd vote the 5.13's for sure. IIRC, you lose a tooth on the pinion going from 4.88's to 5.13's as well. I'm happy with my setup running the auto 8spd, with 4.88's on RidgeGrappler 37's, (which actually only...
  11. Recommendations for first Moab trip in the Gladiator?

I just got back from a trip out there last week. As mentioned several times before, a hitch skid is a really good idea. It was already warming up in the afternoons as well. I really wish I would have brought some long sleeved fishing shirts. Plenty of sunscreen, water and a wide brimmed hat...
  12. California registration for a Hemi Gladiator

Just a suggestion, but you might contact one of the smog registering places. The experiences I've had with their DMV on similar issues were...futile at best. Years ago, I had a Honda XR650R that I put a dual sport kit on it and was trying to get it registered in CA. Luckily the kit (Baja...
  13. 2.5” or 3.5” Lift w/ 37s Height

Same here with a 3.5" MetalCloak Gamechanger on 37" RidgeGrapplers (which are short for a 37" tire).
  14. Is this pitman arm slop normal?

Good on you finding that, BEFORE you left. I get that it's stressful under a time crunch, but fixing stuff at home is a heck of a lot easier than on the side of a busy interstate. Had that come completely off, the results would have likely been really, really bad. Especially with the whole...
  15. Steps or Sliders....hhhmmm

I run the MetalCloak sliders. The step can be flipped up or down, or removed completely. I haven't tested them up against anything yet, but they sure seem sturdy.
  16. Looking for input on a good replacement front bumper that is rated for flat towing

Logic would dictate that for sure. However, MetalCloak has a disclaimer that says they are for recovery purposes only and not for flat towing.
  17. Sturdy Storage Container That Fits Under Bed Cover

I appreciate all of the suggestions! Thanks guys.
  18. Sturdy Storage Container That Fits Under Bed Cover

I'm still in the process of setting up my JT and I am needing something sturdy enough to put tools, bottle jack, etc into that is short enough to fit under a bed cover. Preferably something I can strap down in the bed, so it doesn't slide around while I'm on the trails. I have molle racks on...
