Personally, I like to keep the OBD2 port free. There are so many other places to get power, I'd rather not occupy a diagnostic port just for that. I will admit it's convenient though.
BTW it's "sharpsicle", like a sharp icicle, not like hammer and sickle. I am no comrade. 🤣
This is standard fare for modifying a vehicle. Components related to your issue will likely need to be returned to stock for warranty service to happen. Considering they cannot immediately pinpoint the issue, they need to go through verified troubleshooting steps to stay within warranty. A...
What did you do exactly? How did you charge them, and how did you determine the level of charge? Did you reset the IBS?
This is just too vague to be able to help.
Dear lord. Apparently there’s no right answer from the dealer for some people. They just want to be upset.
Chill out and be happy the customer was taken care of. Isn’t that what it’s all about anyway?
I'll echo what @Mr._Bill said. ESS isn't the issue. It's the same system you find across a variety of makes and models. It's usually the crap batteries. Many people who blame ESS find out that their main battery was the problem anyway.
And if you do the "delete", you'll want to make sure it's...
If you've got a garage, you can mount the tent so it's as temporary or permanent as you want it to be, and quickly removable. I can drop this on or pull it off in less than 5 minutes and it's as secure as any other setup when on:
You may not want to drive a vehicle period if this low of a risk is this concerning to you. Heck, you have a higher chance of being in a serious accident than you do being victim of a fire to the magnitude you're describing.
If there's a correlation to a design flaw, it will be uncovered. But...
It's not "spontaneous". There's a reason. It's just unknown at this point. It may have nothing to do with the manufacturer.
You should always have things like smoke detectors and evac plans to help protect you and your family. Don't rely on others to plan these things for you, take the...
I am happy, and I don't get it... 🤨
I do think there's a bit of tone-deafness in the original post. Just because enjoying the JT as a daily is not something you see or you experience doesn't mean it's a sign of a problem.
The message is an indication of a problem. To be blunt about it, you could spend days trying to figure out the "why" of something, or you could spend an hour or two getting the batteries properly tested and/or replaced. A simple voltage test just isn't enough to gauge battery health.
Sometimes...
Agreed. It's truly a preference thing, nothing else. The problems always crop up when people make weird claims about their preferred method that just aren't true, like cost savings on 5 or time savings on 4.
Stick to the facts, and do what you prefer. No real advantage or disadvantage either way.
