I cleaned mine up after repair really well and checked it weekly for a few weeks and it was dry, but today a small drip on the bottom of the brake shield.....smh
Well I thought mine was fixed and after cleaning it up and checking it weekly for a few weeks it was dry, but today a small drip at the edge of the brakeshield again not dripping like the original leak, but it's there...smh
Mine was fixed at 750 miles and they seemed to clean it up well visually, but a couple weeks later there was a layer of axle lube and dust on the back of the brake shield, but no active leak like before into the rear of the rim. I washed it off with dawn soap and gave it a good cleaning at the...
Thanks for replying..Great that's my plan then, as it seems to be not much so maybe it was just spill from the repair...they cleaned it up pretty well but maybe when they slid the new axle in it pushed some of the old fluid out of the housing into the area behind the rotor...like I said it...
How did it go for you after cleaning it off and picking up the trailer? Did it leak again? Did you need a second repair? I have 500 mile since repair and like you not dripping like it was, but getting some build up and film on the back of the brake shield and on the back of the axle bolt area...
Mine is leaking again too, 500 miles after the first repair. Have to call the dealership tomorrow. It's not as bad of a leak as original, but I've decreased 3x and the back of the brake shield and axle bolts are covered in a film of axle fluid and dirt. It's not pooling in the rim as it was, but...
Anyone have repair and then have it leak again? I had it repaired at 750 miles, now 1250 miles and on long trips (70 plus miles) I get some residual axle fluid on the bottom of the brake shield again. Could this be residual from the repair as its not pooling in the rim like it was, or is it most...
saw today in another social media forum that the replacement axle has an updated seal and some had both left and rear axles changed out to the updated seals at their dealerships. idk if true or not since it was a random comment and not from FCA or Jeep directly.
Did your leak stop now? After the residual from the parking brake? Dealer said my shoes were not contaminated nor the parking brake. My leak was slow and started at 200 miles with repair at 700 miles. I mentioned the brakes before they repaired it to check them. I called today they say wipe it...
Well, had mine fixed before I went on vacation and it sat in my driveway for 10 days. Drove an hour after repair to check it and was dry, but when I returned a small drip on the bottom edge of the brake shield. Could this be residual from the repair? Looked like they cleaned it up well after...
Got mine back today from repair and drove around for an hour and no leak! Hope it stays that way....time will tell. Because of this forum I caught it very early and my brakes were fine and they cleaned the whole thing up nice. Looks like new....lol ...well it is, only 760 miles....?..the...
Mine is on the shop hopefully done tomorrow told them to check the brake pads for contamination and there are some complaints for this on NTHSA. All should file there to get Jeep looking at this and making the correct repair. How many here had repair and have repeat leak? On the Facebook page...
maybe the seal is crimped at one spot and that spot has to be at the lowest point to leak. Mine has been strange and ive been watching almost daily and recording all the info. It seems to come and go, but always after longer rides. I am just pissed my new truck has to be taken apart so soon at...
I notice mine leaks after longer trips over 15 miles, when it can heat up, but for short trips on cooler days no leak after ride??? It makes me believe in the pressure and vent is an issue, but still concerned about why the seal is weaker than the vent. Not sure why jeep isn't looking into this...
