  1. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I started with side seals only and it was still awful. When I gutted the first build of my bed, i painstakingly went through and plugged every hole in the bed. I then added the GapShield along with the side seals I already had for the gate and now I get virtually no dust intrusion. If you want...
  2. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

It stuck to mine well. Used mineral spirits to make sure it was extremely oil/dirt free. I actually had to replace mine once (not because of damage or failure but because I was reworking the bed build out and wanted to start fresh) and the old one was a bear to remove… It’ll hold.
  3. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I love that GapShieldā„¢ Tailgate Gap Cover. I have used that for 4 years or so and it does wonders not only preventing stuff from falling through but I get almost no trail dust inside my bed/cap. I highly recommend this to anyone with a cap that is still fighting dust intrusion. EDIT: It even...

He should have clocked it with a radar gun...that's the question we really need the answer to.
  5. Rear door opening limit extensions

Whoever said it’s hard to get out is aggrandizing. I can grab it with a pair of pliers and pop it right out. If your concerned, tie a piece of paracord through a bolt hole before you push it into the door; that way you’ll have more leverage to pull it back out…heck you could even tie a loop in...
  6. Rear door opening limit extensions

If you are referring to the one that is recessed into the door and attaches to the door frame/sill which acts sort of as a closer and stop, then yes. I unbolted it and pushed it into the door (it's easy enough to pull back out if need in the future). I then just put those screws right back...
  7. Other obsessions and hobbies or other. šŸ™ƒ

Thanks. Honestly, I’m a retired engineer so I find that everything about woodworking fulfills my need to ā€œproblem solveā€. Lol

@ShadowsPapa You’d probably like the chisel till (not sure if I linked this correctly):
  9. Other obsessions and hobbies or other. šŸ™ƒ

After spending the last 2 months making the Christmas gifts that my wife "commissioned", I finally got to work on one of my projects. I've been wanting to make a little cabinet to match my plane till: Here's the carcass sitting on the shelf above the plane till and chisel till: And I've...
  10. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Yeah, lived in Sioux City and worked in South Sioux, NE. Met my wife in Sioux City. Funny story…after we had dated a few times, I found out that she was actually the tech that had processed my pre-employment drug screen for the job I had in South Sioux. So we tell people that she drug tested...
  11. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I ā€œlivedā€ that same moment. I moved here 15 years ago from your neck of the woods (2 yrs Sioux City, 4 yrs Council Bluffs, 10 yrs Cedar Rapids) around Christmas time. On my first day of work, I pulled into the parking lot and one of the supervisors that reported to me was waiting at the front...
  12. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

As I've been catching up with this thread, I've noticed all the posts over the last 10 pages about winterizing. Here in Arizona I had to wear a long sleeve t-shirt this morning because it was like 72F when I got up.
  13. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

My apologies for for not being timely as I'm way behind on this thread. I know you've already invested in your Ace Sliders, so I can't try to talk you out of them. All I can do is give you a PSA about them so that you don't end up where I did. Here's a previous post about itfrom a different...

  15. Snorkel advice

Well...apparently, AEV no longer offers that as an option for the gas engine. When I bought the snorkel kit for my Wrangler, Jeep didn't even have a diesel in their line up. Not sure why they have done that. Here's a link to a company that sells the one I have (that AEV use to sell as an...
  16. Snorkel advice

Like @montechie said, I don’t get any whistling or extra noise with the AEV snorkel on my Wrangler and I honestly don’t find it restricts any visibility either. One thing to note if you go the AEV route and if you get the pre-filter, make sure that the exhaust of the pre-filter (where the...
  17. Snorkel advice

Not so much of a "recommendation", rather a pep talk. I installed the AEV snorkel on my 2016 JKUR and it was a bit "nerve racking". I still plan on installing one on my Gladiator...there's just too many projects in front of it yet. Here's a couple of the things to remember/keep in mind...

  19. Recommend: Jeep Service Dealership - East Phoenix?

@Eviltastmaster I’m in Tempe and all 3 of the Jeeps I have bought were from Tempe JDCR. They have a great sales team but their Service Department are a bunch of knuckleheads IMHO. The parts guys are great and whenever I need dealer parts, that’s where I go. But as far as service goes...
  20. Roof Top Tent on Cab Area Specficially

FWIW, I’m a big AEV fan as well but…honestly…it was just a rebranded Rhino Rack and Pioneer Platform. The thing is, they really had no customer support for the rack…because it wasn’t theirs. So any parts, etc. you needed sent you off to Rhino Rack anyways. Save yourself the middle man hassle...
