  1. Who Wants to Compare Personal Property Taxes? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

The numbers can be churned out to make for endless discussion. Comparing NY, CA, and Idaho confuses me to the point I am going outside. :). NY TAX rate = 13.5% vs Idaho Tax rate =7.5% (Idaho tax is 58% of NY) CA tax rate = 11% vs Idaho tax rate = 7.5% (idaho is 68% of CA) NY mean...
  2. Is the Mopar 2 inch lift actually bad?

sorry. I got mixed up. I’ve got a Gladiator and a Wrangler and I post on both forums.
  3. Is the Mopar 2 inch lift actually bad?

Quadra Tech has Mopar lift kits on sale. I bought mine for $999.
  4. No-drill options for motorcycle front wheel chock mounted in bed?

I used a roll in chock mounted to 2x12 lumber. I cut one board to fit across in front of the wheel wells. Another went at 90° to the first for the chock. The lumber and chock would hold the bike up. When I added tiedowns it fixed everything in place.
  5. Non-AGM Battery - 2020 Gladiator

I am a proponent of switching to one battery. The quote above covers some of the logic involved in the switch. A Walmart Everstart Premium AGM group 94 battery will have as much cold cranking amps (CCA) as both Mopar batteries combined. It also comes with a 4-year warranty and the warranty...
  6. Non-AGM Battery - 2020 Gladiator

Glad your truck is running OK. Now, about that battery. The 2020 gladiator came with 2 AGM batteries. One you can see and one that is small and out-of-sight. Does your truck still have the small (auxiliary) battery? If so, is it an AGM battery? Mixing the 2 types of batteries, especially...
  7. GPS TROUBLE

Manufacturers do not make maps, they buy them. Often they are old or impossible to update, causing the missing POI that you mention. Also, I do not like the place my GPS starts - always zoomed way in. When I back out to the distance that I like to use for navigation, the small road details...
  8. GPS TROUBLE

The factory GPS is low value. I like to use my phone with a navigation app (Google Map and Gaia) along with CarPlay to see the map on the big screen.
  9. Mopar 2” Lift Kit and Leveling Kit

I just put a Mopar lift on my Wrangler. Like others here, I used a 3/4" spacer to compensate for my winch and bumper. The most difficult part of the installation is tightening down the front bump stops (if you follow instructions). I found that I could install and tighten the bump stops...
  10. Coast to Crawl: South Carolina to Rubicon Trail and back

    - Red Rock 4-Wheelers, Inc. Fins N Things - This is the Red rock Wheelers link to the Fins N' Things trail. The page shows the rating, includes a description, and has a map (google) at the bottom of the page. The Map is full featured which means you can zoom in for a close look and also...
  11. Coast to Crawl: South Carolina to Rubicon Trail and back

One more reply while the guys head for the Rubicon Trail :) I was a lifetime dirt biker. Once my kids got out of school and I had the time and money, I started riding motorcycles in faraway places and loved it. Several years ago, health issues made motorcycle riding in places like Moab or...
  12. Coast to Crawl: South Carolina to Rubicon Trail and back

This decent scared me. No surprise. I'm kind of a weenie. The big hole at the top that tilts you right when you want to turn left made me squeal. I followed the same route shown here. When I got to the bottom and looked back, I decided it would have been better to go straight down the...
  13. Coast to Crawl: South Carolina to Rubicon Trail and back

Loving your trip report. It's been a couple of years for me since I tread some of that ground. I like your photo attached here. The climb out from the first section of Fins N' Things looks formidable. It's not that hard but it makes for a great photo or movie.
  14. Anybody got a Wrangler?

I bought the 2020 Gladiator first. It was such a big upgrade on my 2004 TJ Rubicon that I decided I had to have a newer Wrangler. I bought the Blue 2020 JLUR a couple of years ago. I've been very happy with both vehicles. Both of my Jeeps have 3.6 engines and 35" tires. I've never felt...
  15. I'm joining the "aux battery won't charge" club. Should I just delete it?

I'm in South Carolina where it gets hot-hot-hot. My Walmart battery is not covered and it has not been a problem. Covers are available if you feel the need. I'd check Amazon. Amazon.com : h7 battery cover
  16. Suspension issues/begging for help

I’ve got Toyo AT3s on my Wrangler and Gladiator. I like them a lot.
  17. Suspension issues/begging for help

Ditto on the KO2. It seemed like there was always one that needed a lot of weight to balance. I used load range c and never felt like they lasted long enough.
  18. Suspension issues/begging for help

The big thing is to give the wheel a chance to center on all of the lug nuts. Tire shops mostly hit the first lug nut with their impact wrench, locking the wheel into position referenced to just that one lug nut. I was having a similar problem as the original poster on my 2004 TJ until I...
