BTW, I can't wait to read more of the ops review of the switch. I've been leaning towards the Maggie while also trying to convince myself to let this be the first engine I haven't added power to since being able to drive lol.
Part of me is glad Dave doesn't live closer otherwise I might have...
Ya my statement was in contrast to stock, which I thought his comment was referring to.
I like your comment of stock 3500-4500 rpm vs boosted 2500-3500 but I feel the extra cylinder pressure negates the rpm benefit as far as increasing longevity is concerned and still will create at least an...
I stated owning modified vehicles to show I have no bias towards power adders, but I disagree with the fact that adding a supercharger will make your engine last longer. You quoted him asking if it gives engine longevity and then stated that as long as cylinder pressure is maintained it does...
Like CR I too haven't owned an unmodified vehicle in about 30 years and I while I love my tuned and boosted engines I have to disagree with this statement. I cannot see where this adds engine longevity. Maintains the current amount yes, but I don't think it will increase your engine life from stock.
I think maximus 3 makes add on hooks for the front that people also use for flat towing with their RVs. I considered adding it when I install a winch but not sure I want to cut the bumper
I'm not at all saying don't get a Mojave, they are an amazing trim, just do your research. It was a hard choice for me as well, especially because (at least around me) the factory incentives always excluded the Rubicon but not the Mojave so Mojaves we're cheaper by proxy even though both...
Since overlanding is your thing it depends. If you keep most of the weight in the trailer get the Mojave for your purposes. If you also want to load up the bed while towing then get a Rubicon. Seems like most of the guys who get mojaves to overland spend a lot of time trying to deal with squat...
The only good way I was able to talk myself out of 38-40s is that I didn't want a spare filling up my entire bed or strapped to the top somewhere or blocking the view behind. So I managed to squeeze a 37 under the bed and that's what I run.
It's only one inch of extra clearance. But you should be fine. I have 37s on mine with a lift still in my garage waiting to be installed and haven't rubbed yet.
