Sometime around the 90s I read an article about how you should handle getting a large sum of money. I believe it was discussing a lotto win or something like that. It said to take 10% and buy whatever you *want* (so maybe buy a $10,000 Jeep), to get it out of your system. Take the rest and invest.
I built a Mojave and was able to get 10% off MSRP. I’m certainly in a different market, but you should have some ’wiggle room’.
I never looked into anything other than a Rubicon or Mojave in a manual transmission.
Thank you all for your replies. Things are making more sense, such as how his attitude changed. The only thing he tried to sell extra was extended warranty. I said no without looking, but nice to know you can get that at a percentage of what they are asking. I’ve just always said no. Maybe I’ll...
Long story below, but I'm wondering if the finance person that you deal with has any incentives to have you finance with certain institutions? Such as, do they get extra bonuses or a % kick-back? Does it matter to them if I finance with Chrysler or with a local Bank/Credit Union?
On to the long...
Meh, maybe, but both make so much money for them and are very different that I can't see that being the issue. I could see if we were talking about the old Dakota. It's probably more about the bean counters justifying making a midsize gladiator that much more expensive than it already is. It's...
I would love an interior that is more basic that doesn't have a touch screen. Basically I just need bluetooth streaming. I had the basic radio in my old Ridgeline and it had bluetooth streaming and a physical pause button...this was absolutely perfect. Even my 2015 BMW doesn't have a pause...
I don't see myself doing this, but I always enjoy a good writeup on how someone handles an 'problem' and how they find ways to resolve it. I wish more people were as thorough as you were with this project. Great job
That is a whole bunch of options. If that is what you want....
I found a truck that was close to what I wanted if I built, but had more options (leather/audio stuff/bunch of safety stuff). I told the dealer that they would need to get the price closer to what I would build. This particular...
I have to wait until my Gladiator arrives, but there are a ton of kayak accessories for the 'h-rail' system. if the handles are close to the same size, might work if you can find something for the h-rail system....
Was somewhat in your situation as well. Wanted a Manual with cloth, was thinking Willys for awhile. Test drove a Rubicon and then ended up going with a Mo'Jave because I know if I'm going to have fun, it will be on trails, not rocks (though I did come close to getting that Rubicon). My Mo'Jave...
$4000 if they offered a manual+diesel option, which I would have absolutely paid for. So really it's $6000 extra.
FYI, I had a TDI+Manual in a Jetta almost 20yrs ago and it was fantastic. Kind of wish I still had it for blasting around town.
Honestly missed that because I had to skip through the extra loud harsh noise (music?) for the first ~30 seconds. I didn't want to try and time it for when the noise was over - plus I didn't want to lower the volume just to get through it. This seems to be a theme with YouTube though, everyone...
Horrible intro on the video, but otherwise very nice! I will be very interested to see how the reliability is. I hope you keep it and put a lot of miles on it, document, etc..
I see you're in Central FL, and that picture looks like it might be in Lakeland. They were willing to take off about 8% from a build with just emailing them and asking for a quote. You should have some room to move with them. They seem to move a good amount of units and are willing to work with...
Possibly, I ordered LED and bed liner. RedHotWillys ordered the same date I did, received it 2 weeks earlier. Doesn't look like it has LED, but it might have the bed liner...
Willys diesel is an awesome combo. I like the black/white combo as a Willys more than others. Still wish you could get a diesel with a manual, but maybe sometime down the road as more and more people buy the diesel option.
