The OP said he bought the RAM because he wanted to tow a trailer. And Iām saying that I have one that I use for towing, and I also have a JT, and I think he made a good choice considering his future needs. So yeah, Iām aware that this is an apples to oranges situation.
I watch Benās videos from time to time and I think he more or less has to use the clickbait titles in order for YouTube to surface his videos to others. Not defending that, but the video itself has to do with how he thinks the JT needs more engine options.
A bunch of ā22s sitting on the lot in...
I own a Ram 1500 and a JTR. Love both of them but the RAM is way more comfortable when towing. Mine also happens to have the built-in trailer brake controller, which is great because you donāt have to mess with an external one. Youāll love the RAM!
Agreed. I love when pro-EV folks ā who are absolutely GIDDY about government mandates that will eventually force us all into them -- simply canāt understand why someone would NOT want an EV right now.
Itās like, just because YOU like an EV doesnāt mean that EVERYONE has to like or want them...
To each their own, but this doesnāt get me excited about the RAM REV at all. I understand the joke/undertone of it, but meh.
My takeaway is that itās essentially saying this: āhey, government is mandating EVs, so weāre building them. They kind of suck now. But we have one that looks like a...
All I have to say is āwowā and I donāt mean that in a good way.
Prior versions have a nice rugged look to them. This one looks like a grocery-getter. But I guess thatās all it can really do, since it probably canāt tow anything for any considerable amount of range.
Yeah, there are some people who like the 4xe because of the technology. Not to mention that government will give you a tax rebate if you buy one, since they āapproveā of it.
Either way, not saying Iām right or wrong. But to me, calling the electric components by fancier or more exciting names...
No, itās not the branding.
A lot of people resent government mandates happening in some states that basically eliminate all choices other than EVs by 2035. I donāt have a problem with emerging technology, but Iād rather make the decision to adopt that technology on my own based on its merits...
Yep, this is why I ended up buying a used 2021 JTR that matched exactly what I was planning on ordering on a 2023. It was somewhat of a unicorn but happened to pop up for sale out of state and I bought it. Even though used prices are still slightly elevated, I didnāt want to pay for a 2023...
I just picked up a ā21 that has death wobble and while I didnāt catch it myself because it wasnāt obvious to me, thereās movement in the drag link near where it attaches to the pitman arm. Had it over to a shop that specializes in Jeeps and one of the techs looked it over with me and showed me...
Thanks so much for posting this. I just bought a ā21 JT Rubicon that the previous owner lifted and it has the exact same issue. Not really death wobble, but was a little scary when it happened the first time. Same parameters you mention - between 40-50MPH, and I can accelerate out of it. I...
I think so, based on the picture of the bumper although I didnāt personally look at it myself when I test drove it. Itās the factory bumper. No errors. Thanks!
Thanks! The park assist button on the dash was definitely not āoffā because I accidentally pressed it when I was looking for the button to turn off the automatic stop/start and then realized I pressed the wrong button and pressed it again to turn it back on. (Haha).
But good to know about...
I definitely want a JT Rubicon, but I donāt have one yet.
I happened to find a used 2021 that matches the specs Iām looking for, so I figured Iād go check it out if I could get it at a good price as opposed to ordering a new one. It has a lift and 37s on it. I understand that Iād be buying...
I watched the TFL video. The biggest things that stood out to me are that it looks smaller than a current RAM 1500 (although I havenāt seen/read anything about dimensions) and the new RAM logo reminds me of the KIA logo that nobody can recognize.
I havenāt towed with a JT, but I towed with a Toyota Tacoma and found it to be okay, but not nearly as powerful and as comfortable as the RAM 1500 I have now. You might feel like the JT is a downgrade from the Raptor in that regard.
