I've wiped it out few times, but it is slung around the rim and there's always a drip hanging off the back of the brake shield, after q drive it pools a bit more and once dripped down the tire to the driveway. But yes, I don't think I've lost much. To me it seems to leak most after a drive and...
So after calls to FCA Chrysler, they are ordering a new right rear axle assembly...lol...they will invite me back after the part arrives and did not give me a timeline, just said they will call me. They are a large high volume, reputable dealer, so I guess I wait and see what happens. I did...
At the dealer and they need to keep the truck to take it apart to diagnose the issue. They haven't had one of these axle issues yet and are saying they have to take it apart to figure it out.
I hope this is my last issue for a while. I hope you have better luck too....its all just insane to me that there are so many issues people have. I traded a 2017 cherokee with 60k never had a single issue. My wife's 2016 Renegade though lots of programming and electrical issues. Idk..I was...
I did some leaked out then stopped. I hoped that solved it and it didn't. So it's either the seal or the restrictive vent breather or both in.my opinion. Im No mechanic and you seem to have it covered, so after your explanation my conclusion is the seal is compromised in some way on the right...
Took a long drive to Maine today. Got out took a look and no leak......until I returned from walking the shops and having lunch in Kittery that is...checked again and dripping with a small pooling of fluid in the back of the wheel......
I bought at Quirk in Braintree. I'm going to go back there just because I had a few things done when I bought mine and they did a great job and I'm so ocd about this truck. I've had issues with Kelly's service manager and they tried to screw me on a warranty claim on my wife's jeep and we bought...
Did you ever check the level to see if it was over filled when it began ? Mine leaks and then doesn't leak, then it starts again, not a lot , but it's splattered a little around the rim pooled in the rim once. Stopped then a tiny bit again not dripping, but on the lower edge of the brake shield...
So I've been reading jeep blogs, many other bits of info on axle seal leaks and talking to my mechanic friends, and it does seem diffs can be over filled as they should not be filled to the fill hole, but about
1cm below it at axle tube level and the new gore valves can be restrictive in...
My biggest issue is how can the dealer figure out if it's a seal issue vs overfill from factory or vent issue? I mean you can check the level of fluid and possibly the vent, but do they do this prior to pulling it apart?
well looks like ill need to visit the dealer sooner than later. after wiping it down i havent driven it at all in 3 days, its been 90 plus degrees and today 75 and i had a quarter sized puddle in the back of my rim on the passenger rear with a drip coming from between the brake rotor and the...
