  1. Adaptive Cruise Control: yay or nay?

Absolutely love it. My wife, who has hated every truck and Jeep we've had, now prefers the Gladiator over her sports car simply because of that. I wish she'd let me sell the thing. The AEB saved my ass one time when an idiot in a truck pulled out in front of me because his view was blocked...
  2. 6000lb Travel Trailer Towing?

This is pretty much how they all look. Just google it, you'll find a ton of examples. Mine is rated for 600 pounds tongue weight, and works really well.
  3. Heater/defroster temperature control is TERRIBLE...anyone else have the same issue?

"Sweating like a moth." WTF. Never heard th.......ooooohhhhhhhhhh. I'm lucky that we're a pretty good match, and it mostly stays in the sync mode.
  4. Mods you regret

I tried a Bestop for my JK, and hated it. Worst of both worlds as far as noise/heat, and smelled simply HORRIBLE. It's a smell some people don't care about, and others really hate. I'm just glad that I got a stupid good deal and sold it for more.
  5. Went mudding; need advice!

These are more like dealer problems than overall. I have taken it in for warranty work covered in mud, nobody gave a damn OTHER than they said it was a pain to clean so they could work on it, and asked me please to at least knock off most of it before coming in.
  6. Went mudding; need advice!

Mud is fun. This stuff is actually decomposing fish guts, salt water, and coral. $180 for detailing. There was mud in the air vents.
  7. Went mudding; need advice!

And this kind of fraud is why we end up having problems with legit claims.
  8. Heater/defroster temperature control is TERRIBLE...anyone else have the same issue?

Both of the problem reports above are different from what happens with mine. I've owned my Gladiator for 11 months, where we went from warm weather, to crazy hot, to crazy cold (for AZ). It always works. I've gone out on a 50 degree night with the windows down, and the system automatically...
  9. Heater/defroster temperature control is TERRIBLE...anyone else have the same issue?

I just realized I've never used the defrosters, front or back. Do you still have that problem if you hit the dedicated defrost button? I don't actually know what it does.
  10. Went mudding; need advice!

My auto stop/start is nearly always disabled. About 90% of my driving time, the cluster says "battery charging" and that the stop/start is not working. I haven't bothered to take it to a dealer yet. The only time it works is when I do some highway driving, and I guess it charges then. It is...
  11. Sad but good day, what should I sell for private party?

Have them buy your Gladiator and give it back to you as your company truck. Definitely do not keep an extra personal vehicle you don't need. A friend with a company truck did that for years, and the amount of cash he wasted was huge. If the company lets you use it for everything you want as...
  12. Heater/defroster temperature control is TERRIBLE...anyone else have the same issue?

The worst I've seen from mine is that the temp setting needs to vary a bit by heat load. Meaning that if it's super hot out, it works better if I set temp to 68-69. If it's cool/cold out, I set it to 72. But once I set it, then it stays fine for the entire drive. It's just that in AZ we have...
  13. Mods you regret

I have one of those covers. Haven't used it on the JT yet, but had them and used them a lot on my JKs before I got the Gladiator.
  14. Mods you regret

JCR. Great hardware, pretty decent install, very stout. Just pretty useless in actual application. Maybe if I wanted to hold a shovel and a Hi-lift it would be useful, but I don't. I wanted bags, and it just isn't a good or useful thing. For $40 I put little steel pockets from the wheel...
  15. Your Top Few Mods?

Rock rails. Winch. Drop-in phone dock. Onboard air. Bed organizer pockets.
  16. Mods you regret

Molle panel for the truck bed side. Just doesn't really work well there, doesn't have room for larger bags, and the largest space also would cover the bed lights. Total waste.
  17. No bed power? No problem! $9.99 do it yourself.

Anderson connectors are a fairly universal high-current low voltage connector. They are used in a lot of industrial applications. In a vehicle they can connect things like heavy duty air compressors, batteries, and other high-current applications. I have one on my RV battery to disconnect it...
  18. What do YOU do to make your Gladiator last forever.

If you're doing it right, you still make money then. I did. Also during any major economic turmoil you want to be leveraged so that you can still have assets and cash. Again, 2-3% is about free money, and you can always pay it off; can't ever get cash back if you pay up front.
  19. 6000lb Travel Trailer Towing?

That’s a very common myth, so I don’t blame you for buying into it. But it’s totally false. Let me ask you...would they cover me if I drove my Jeep into a river? The answer of course is yes. Insurance can exclude gross and purposeful negligence, but not simple negligence. And driving with the...
  20. 6000lb Travel Trailer Towing?

Correct, I get my best MPG in CA. The trucks do about 62 and again, I just set ACC to get in line with them. I wouldn't. Also it's well under 4k. I'd be VERY uncomfortable driving so much slower than all other traffic, including trucks and other RVs. How so, besides the wreck? So I'd get...
