That's more of an issue that not enough people do it to justify keeping parts in generalized stores. You can still go to places like Microcenter to get parts; and like you said, the internet sells all of that for you. There are plenty of options available without buying a high end gaming machine.
I was able to lift it up high enough to get my keys by removing four 10mm bolts. Relatively easy, just annoying because you have to be in a different position for each of the four and the two in the back require the seats to be all the way forward. If you remove it completely there are some...
I've used it for years with my JK and I have no complaints. I only use it to adjust my tire size and read codes. If I ever re-gear I'll use it for that as well.
I'll probably get a license for my JT as well since I already have the thing you have to plug in.
We got the extended warranty as well after our experience with the extended warranty on our Cherokee.
We bought the lifetime warranty on our Cherokee in 2015 when Chrysler offered it. It just saved us $3500 on a repair and has probably saved us around $8000. When we picked it up yesterday the...
Depends on how much time you have and how much of a hassle you want to deal with.
My dealership is so far out for scheduled maintenance that its just easier to do anything myself if I can. Any maintenance appointments have been 3-4 weeks out minimum over the last six months or so.
Stuff like this makes me glad to live in SD. No one here cares. We literally don't require a wind shield; although we do require windshield wipers which is pretty funny when you think about it.
Other than Jeep forums my favorite was for my 02 corvette.
Corvette forum has the engineers who built it posting regularly to answer questions. Pretty cool.
Zip ties. Duct tape. Rope. Bleach. A shovel. oh wait, wrong tool kit.
Zip ties, duct tape, rope, ratchet straps, sockets, if you want to be really cool get a battery powered impact, breaker bar, liquid wrench/wd-40, small shovel, hammer of some kind, and a tactical rock.
I've been driving in South Dakota winters for over 10 years using OEM or equivalent wipers with no issues.
My 2 cents is that your choice of wiper fluid is a more important choice than your wiper. Make sure you get something that won't freeze at whatever temp you may get down to. We get -20...
I have three vehicles with the 3.6. I've not had engine issues with any of them. I've had nothing but issues with my Cherokee lately but they haven't been engine related. My Wrangler has been pretty solid over the last 10 years and 130,000 miles. My gladiator only has 8k miles but so far I...
I changed my oil this weekend. I add a step. Complain about how hard it is to remove the drain bolt and then realize you are turning it the wrong way.
I used to have a job where I developed muscle memory screwing on reverse threaded things and I can never remember which way to turn a bolt now...
I had that happen in my YJ. Got pulled over on I5 just outside Fort Lewis, WA. I had my daughters with me. I got to walk a line and do the full thing, in uniform, completely sober. My oldest daughter now refers to this as "that time you got pulled over for a DUI."
I traded a corvette in on my JT. Apparently corvette owners also wave to each other. I'd find myself waving to corvettes in my JK and waving to jeeps in my corvette. Really confusing.
I usually wave, unless I forget or I'm in a bad mood.
My '13 JK has been generally reliable; it had a heater core go bad after 9 years, the thermostat and washer fluid reservoir had to be replaced at 10 years. The heat isn't working right again, and I suspect they put the wrong thermostat in at the dealership because the engine isn't warming up all...
