I'd really like to know what the resolution of this is.
I used to have an H2 and wheeled with a bunch of others, and on the really rocky stuff, we would do what's called brake-throttle-modulation (BTM), which completely disabled the traction control and worked well getting over rocks. You...
I thought mine was coming on Thursday, as that is what FedEx was saying, but it's actually shipping on Friday.
alwhite:
Does it fit well and seal up well?
I watched the installation video a couple of times, and it seems fairly straightforward. Was there anything during your installation...
I was guessing, and I was wrong. I just looked, and I actually have the Viair 450P. They're about $316 on Amazon.
It's worked well for about 7 years. Only thing I don't like about it is that the built-in pressure gauge is off. Not a big problem, but I have to use a separate pressure gauge...
Also, on the other issue, airing down can help on rocks, but it also can help on stuff you can sink into, such as sand and mud, because it adds to the surface area in contact with the mushy stuff.
I also have a Viair and have been very pleased with it. I think it is this one: https://www.viaircorp.com/portables/400p
You hook it up to your battery terminals for power.
It looks like you can get one for under $200: https://www.amazon.com/VIAIR-40043-400P-Portable-Compressor/dp/B000X9AXR8
Not the definitive answer, but I personally would go with the Coopers. I just trust them so much. That's an individualized issue.
They are not noisy to me, and they handle great on the road.
Yesterday, driving home with the boys from a hunting/camping trip, I was going about 78 mph as some...
Yeah, the Jeeps fit into some places where H2s don’t, and they have greater front axle articulation. But the H2 has some advantages on open terrain, including that you could put 37s on them with no lift, which made then, IMO, really stable on inclines with a pretty wide stance and low center of...
I have 2,100 miles on my Rubi Gladiator with 35” tires, auto trans, with no lift or added weight. The computer was accurately recalibrated for the taller tires (as checked against the Waze GPS).
Lately, I get about 16 mpg when cruising at around 78 mpg.
I got 18 mpg on a recent trip cruising...
I have tried just about every tire over the past two and a half decades, and the Cooper STTs are the best for me for almost everything. Bombproof. Last for over 70K miles. 3-ply sidewall that almost can't be punctured. Grip. Etc. …
My 17x35s have 21/32" tread depth. Same size BFGs...
Wrong. I had an H2 I drove for 120K miles, and they had strong rear locking axles with the SOLID rear axle. They did not come with locking front independent axles. Wrong. H2 friends I wheeled with who put aftermarket lockers on their front end broke them regularly when the rear axle lockers...
I'm NOT missing the point, which is that both the front a rear lockers on the Rubis are much stronger than the Offender's rear-only locker. If you disagree, you're wrong.
