No photos on hand but probably #1 the ā67 Pontiac Firebird Coupe I bought for $800 when I was 20. Had to sell it soon after because it had no brakes and I couldnāt afford to fix them. #2 was a 1970 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible w/ an auto-stick. #3, and more to applicable to this forum, a 1973 K5...

And here is the finished product.
Love the new ride. Not floaty like the stock Rubicon suspension but not overly firm either. I think the extra weight front and back helps with that. Test drove on some desert roads and washes, itās going to be great.
Got truck back from dealer. Took a day trip out to the desert to give it a test. Route involved freeway, sandy washes, washboard, and two-lane mountain/country roads. Big improvement. Part of it can also be attributed to the new suspension and track bar, but for the TSB they replaced the gear...
My 2020 JTR is at the dealer right now for the TSB work. Took it in beginning of November, was approved for the TSB work. Waited for parts like everyone else. Last week had it in for an oil change and they let me know the steering parts were in. 3.5 months wait. But then...I also have been...
Estimate is $1100. This includes a track bar install and alignment. I brought in all the parts, though I could have sourced the lift through Ellis CDJR for same cost. I expect you could find a place to install for much less in the Valley but YMMV. Wanted the same place I get maintenance and...
3.5 months later, dropped the JTR off to get the steering box TSB done (cause for the delay) and then finally the AEV Dualsport Suspension installed. I know itās an easy install but been there and done that. Glendale CDJR in Los Angeles does a lot of AEV work. Will post pics and impressions once...
I know some Jeep JK owners here in SoCal who have installed Ravelco anti-theft devices but I havenāt seen one on a JL/JT. It will prevent a hotwire or key fob replication theft.
Correct. There is a mechanical reason for this.
Apologies if this comes off preachy, Iām just repeating what I learned from making this mistake once.
Consider the bolts, the bracket you mount the control arm to, and the dense bushing on the socket on the end of the control arm. With the...
Yep park it somewhere level and loosen and retighten all the control arm bolts. Donāt remove the bolts, just get them loose. If you donāt do this the rubber bushings in the control arms stress under the incorrect preload and wear out faster. Torquing to spec under the Jeep is a major pain. But...
When you installed the leveling kit did you loosen and re-torque the control arm bolts while it was still jacked up or did you let it settle on ground first so the bushings could get the right new pre-load? I made this error on my JK with a leveling kit and it affected how my suspension handled...
Pic from the inside. Itās the lower left plug. Dremel or drill out for your wire/s then seal around with RTV or like sealant. If you leave to plug out and donāt seal you will get water in the drivers footwell as reported by other JL/JT owners.
also you can pick up spares of this plug online...
Specific to the JT, the bolts mounting the front seats to the floor are torx head bolts. To remove these (for example mounting an air compressor under the passenger seat), you need an E12 torx socket. HF sells a set of torx sockets for $10.
Agreed. When I took mine in to have the steering play looked at two weeks ago, the service advisor mumbled something about checking the VIN, then next thing they were ordering the parts and told me to wait for a call to bring it back for the TSB work. No hassle at all. Iām sure Jeep knows which...
No grit? Brad is a retired Navy Corpsman who deployed in theater with Marines. He doesnāt shove that in everyoneās face which also says a lot about his character. Pretty safe to criticize there keyboard warrior. Have some respect.
