That wouldn't be a very good trickle charger. The charger should put out a higher potential than the battery itself. There is a possibility that it is an AGM charger and it is in
If it is an AGM charger as it should be, the voltage will vary during the amperage phase of charging. ShadowsPapa...
We had a foundry at my highschool. I even wondered if it is still there. Most of that sort of work has left the country. We also had a printshop. That technology is long gone.
First thing to do, is to decide what you need 115vac for. Do you have the devices already? Can you use 12vdc instead?
If you have the 115vac for the rear seats then you have the inverter and you could retro fit your truck with the oem rear 115outlet. I was going to do this mod myself but at...
You can do what someone else suggested and just tap the +- together to dissipate the charge, but never mentioning the aux battery.
Edit..
I forgot to add the step after this, replace your fuse array!
You got to have tools ( meter and a few wrenches)and you have to understand just a little bit...
I looked up the price of a filter and fluid for my Grand Cherokee transmission. I called ahead to see if they had it and they did. When I got there the parts guy told me the total and I had to ask if he included the filter. He said yep! I paid and looked at the bill. I was not charged suggested...
I have a handful of different models. In the past, I had a HF in every vehicle. Sometimes they just disappear or the leads are missing or the batteries corroded making it useless. I have upgraded the throwaways to a Fluke 101. Mind you they were only $40 each when I did this. I have lost a...
That Harbor freight meter is rocking though! Great to have if you don't have anything else. Best thing about a Harbor Freight meter is when you break it, you don't lose any sleep and get another.
Sometimes you are not in a position to take care of things yourself. I have broke down 1000 miles from home and -17f outside. That's when the everyone at the dealership takes a turn on you while the service manager holds you down. I haven't bought a Chevy since then. I had another similar...
I'll probably one day replace my battery set. I'll keep the OEM set-up as it has lasted 5 years and counting. I may not put Mopar batteries in. I
I like the Genisis setup. I just read about it a week or so ago. It's just not for me. I have a good thing going the way I take card of my...
That's what the bed is for. Put your second (or third) battery in the bed with a cut off switch. You can then power other things too and not just a winch or a radio.
I'm not the brains you are looking for, but what would be the point of adding more cables to chaff and a second expensive battery? Either delete it, delete it and upgrade existing main or replace the smaller battery.
Two things come to mind. One being, your main battery can not hold a charge. That could explain the 14+ vdc all of the time.
The other could be you need to reset the ibs. But it really looke like your main battery is going south.
