I have the same wheels, no rash(used offroad a bunch). I put 12.5 inch wide tires on and keep my pressure down to 40psi, tire bulge=rash guard and terrible fuel economy.
Have you tried a wire brush to the key? Some new keys might just need the edges to be worn slightly(from my experience in my previous job of cutting keys at Lowe's).

You are reading this correctly. It wouldn't make sense to turn the Recon into a truck since they have the Gladiator. It does make sense for them to do either the 4XE or an electric for the Gladiator. We can benefit greatly in this form factor to have either!
