There's not much to it, that control panel just clips in, no screws. I used a plastic wedge tool from the passenger grab handle side to pop it off then just tucked the cable in. The cable is just long enough to reach the bottom of the phone so it doesn't end up flopping all over the place.

I also have the Bullet Point mount. I used a 1' cable and tucked it behind the control trim. I didn't want to drill into the top of my dash either. My center console Usb kept giving me CarPlay issues so I use the front. I would like a cable with a 90* for it though so the cover would close more.
