Those are elbows, best with white wall tires.. It's an acquired taste.

I can confirm the airing down at the race track but mainly because the heat from hard braking, the tires end up with substantially increased PSI as a result.

38s here. I don’t commute (trader at home) so my driving is leisure in the city and off-road just outside of the city. If you’re mainly on pavement, 40s would be overkill and you’ll likely have to cough up more dough for more parts to support the big jump in tire size. You’ll be miserable...
